Jaakkola 6.5 one very good save, too slow at using the ball (but why does he receive so many back passes ?)

Ehmer 5 terrible mistake, played better after it
Baldwin 4.5 nothing convincing about this guy.

McCormick 5 takes too many touches - should drive forward or pass it quicker

Jaakkola 7.5 one nice save to deny hat trick, steady performance.
Hare 5 not his night. Too many crosses never met their man.
Ehmer 3.5 worst game so far, I actually thought to blame for both goals as where was he for the 2nd? Not a captain. Not a leader. Very disappointed.
Baldwin 6.5 one great through ball to Hanlan. Generally ok and probably best of defence.
Leahy 5.5 ineffective.
Grant 4.5 poor. Gave ball away too much and got in way of good opportunity.
Upson 5.5 better of the two but I don't think it works with Grant partnership.
McCormick 5 kicked all night before he was subbed.
Oztumer 8 genuinely dazzling in small doses. Some visionary passing and got a decent shot away.
Nicholson 8 m o m could and should have had hat trick but until his reversion to r b looked unplayable.
Hanlan 7.5 they were too streetwise to allow him to be a threat tonight.
Subs: Kilgour 7.5 looked more comfortable than before.
Walker 5 pedestrian audience member.
Koiki 4.5 really don't get it? What has he done so far? Was very socially distant on the 2nd goal cross.
Westbrooke 4.5 what's happened to him? Was he ever as good as the 'capture' we thought we had made at start of season?
Ref 7 actually let the game flow but missed a few kicks on our players and I definitely thought we should of had a pen on Hanlan first half.
Gillingham 7 streetwise, big, physical team which is what the 3rd division is all about. C*ckweasal winker Evans was his normal tw*tty self, but you can't argue he's constructed a team that won't be bullied off the ball and competed in every department better than us.

Jaakkola: 5 poor distribution and should of been his ball after ehmer mistake for first goal. Does not come for crosses
Hare: 4 nowhere near pre-injury form.
Ehmer: 3 caught out massively for opener. Slow and uninspiring.
Baldwin: 3.5 couldn’t deal with gillinghams physicality. To slow.
Leahy: 6 average to good first half. Don’t understand why he was subbed.
Grant: 3 back to looking lost. Recent improved form has disappeared. Slow and ponderous.
Upson: 5.5 kept ball moving and made himself an option. Slow covering ground defensively.
McCormick: 6.5 worked hard and offered attacking threat. Missed second half.
Oztumer: 7 MOTM played well and showed some moments of brilliance. Deserved more.
Nicholson: 6 looked dangerous and constant threat until moved to RWB. Really needs to work on his finishing as his missed chances have cost us in our last 3 league games now.
Hanlan: 4 offered nothing and did not look fit. Isolated in second half.
Subs: Kilgour: 5 offered some fight.
Walker: 4 to lightweight not yet ready for the physicality of league 1.
Koiki: 4 looked awkward.
Westbrooke: 4 looked short on confidence. Whatever he tried never seemed to come off.
Ref: 6 no complaints.
Gillingham: 6.5 a physical, organised team who played to our weaknesses.

Jaakkola -OK would light to see him give his back four more of a rocket, Bonham looked at least as solid between their posts 6
Hare OK but simply that if his crossing doesn't return 6
Ehmer Mistake for first goal changed the game. He is not as bad as some on here bleat, at least he can play the ball. This said he is playing poorly and not vocal enough as captain 4
Baldwin Disappointing, should he have cut out the second goal 4
Leahy should have gone in the summer a pedestrian fullback. Countless poor corners 4
Grant I like him but a poor game yesterday. He needs to drive forward with the ball and pose a danger. Shoooooooot 5
Upson give him a compass so he knows which way we are playing, so slow and painful to watch the balls constantly played back. Needs a rocket and told to up it or he's out really frustrating 5
McCormick - rarely do we take a youngster on loan who looks the real deal. I think his energy skill and commitment is top rate our best player in first half 6.5
Oztumer part of me says he was great but realistically his touch too often saw the ball bounce off him, lost the ball and passes went astray. But most likely to make things happen and some wonderful touches when they came off. 6.5
Nicholson at times looked a 9 or 10 but shooting let him down and then instead of giving him license to roam we contained him. Second half less of a threat One of our if not the best summer signing 7
Hanlan not in the game, looked a boy against men. 5
Subs: Kilgour what was he doing on their goal? Brought on when we were losing. But he is not showing the form of last season 4
Walker ok busy 5
Koiki poor, were we so lucky to sign him, not seeing it yet going forward or defending, 4
Westbrooke came on chasing a game at least he moves forward. Looks a quality player that needs confidence and a run in the team 5

Jaakkola 5 one good save but slow to react to their opening goal and seems rooted to his line but in his defence having said that those in front of him were hardly inspiring. Hare 6 better than most but he hasn,t reached his pre-injury form yet. Ehmer 4 slow thinking, lumbering and un-inspiring, sadly I doubt Tisdale will drop him but at least he should relieve him of the captaincy,the biggest disappointment of all the summer signings. Baldwin 5 marginally better than Ehmer at least he,s vocal . Leahy 6 ok but slows play down in possession. Grant 5 at least he tried but gets dragged down by those around him. Upson 5 he seemed to have aged about five years in the last year, mind you not having Abs,Sercs and Ollie around him doesnt help. McCormick 6 again high energy but Gills did a job on him and he was crocked by half time. Oztumer 7 played well and always lively Nicholson 7,5 M.o,m could and should have bagged a hat trick. The goals will come but at least he's getting chances but why the f*ck shift him to wing back? Hanlan 6 unfit and out-muscled. Subs: Kilgour 6 surely he's better than just a bit-part sub. Walker 4 a boy amongst men. Koiki 4 sorry but I dont see what he brings to the party. Westbrooke 4 he's much better than he showed last night. Ref 7 good Gillingham 7.Evans got his tactics spot on, an average street wise third division team, a bit like we were this time last year.! |
