Think team selection was poor (though I say that not knowing the circumstances) Also, the tempo was not good, though again one training session not enough. UTG.

van Stappershoef 4.5: a couple of bad clearances and one cost us the chance to get back into the game. Disappointed after his recent performance.

Ehmer 5: defended well but didn’t show the forward play he has shown in this position lately. One position and player PT will need to find best solution for.
Kilgour 4.5: looked comfortable defending up until the late stages of the game when some of his previous mistakes started to resurface.
Baldwin 6: MOTM another solid display. His quick passing and composure has impressed me so far this season. Does lack pace but makes up for with good positional sense.
Leahy 5: not up to recent performances. Caught ball watching on a couple of occasions and should of been closing down player for first goal.

Upson 5.5: missed having grant alongside him doing the dirty work. Tried to get the ball moving but was wasteful and ponderous on a couple of occasions. Needs energy beside him.
Hargreaves 3.5: not played much football this season and it showed. Didn’t do himself many favours if this was his chance to force himself into contention and become part of PT plans. Looked lost and chased shadows for much of the game.

Nicholson 4: quiet and never had his recent attacking threat. Was given no service and looked off the pace. These types of performances are to be expected now and again from players of his type as was often the case with recent flair players the rovers have had. Back to best next week fingers crossed.
McCormick 4: again no service but lacked recent edge and work rate. Still young and learning so will hopefully take something away from the game.
Koiki 5: positive first half but faded in the second. Doesn’t look like a natural attacking player and often took to many touches when a simple give and go looked the better option. Another young player with lots to learn but there is potential.

Hanlan 4: his quietest performance for rovers to date. Was marked out of the game and the experience of keogh nullified his threat. Looked isolated and never had the support or service.

Subs: Barrett 6: I like his positivity, always looking for the ball and isn’t afraid to try things. Yesterday was one of those days where not much came off for him. Can hopefully get up to match fitness quickly.

Ref 5 favoured the home side.
MK 4.5: I didn’t think they were as poor as some said. Was impressed with lewington as I am most times I see him play. Controlled the tempo of the game from the start to finish. MK did remind me of BG rovers at times, lots of pointless possession but unlike BG rovers got the result.
