Phew, what a game could have easily been 2 down before we started playing, then could have been 4 or 5 up if we would have scored the penalty & took our chances. Those last 15 minutes were hard to enjoy as it looked like Blackpool would equalise, it times like that when you could do with a crowd in to get behind the lads & get them across the finishing line. Thought that we would regret Hanlan's missed chances. Very stressful watching today. For the last few days have been doing lots of different types of mediation and gentle exercises. Mediations included positivity, dealing with stress and anxiety as well as other things. Woke up this morning feeling relaxed and positive. Did some more meditation and went for a power walk. Came back and sat down to watch the match. After Hanlan missed the penalty and the easy chance I became a stressed out nervous wreck! So convinced was I that Blackpool would equalize that I put a £25 bet on a draw with 20 minutes to go. Relieved that we won but watching Rovers should really come with a health warning !! Doesn't get any easier after more than sixty years.

Just watched the PT post match comments. Thought he called it about right. And the hat was a big plus!

We've had plenty recently that wouldn't have, Adam Smith for one seemed to let any shot from distance in, JVS has had two decent games out of three and only his kicking really let him down last weekend. Unless Jaakola's going to be out for months then I'd stick with JVS has back up for the rest of the season. He lets any decent shot in as well. The defence plays deeper when he's in goal and nobody looks confident. Every time he makes an easy save, everyone looks relieved and is patting him on the back, trying to boost his confidence. He's still young, but he looks too slow off his line, isn't confident from crosses and shots go through him. He's ok to have on the bench, but if Annsi is out for more than a few games, he will cost us too many points. JVS hasn't cost us any points in his last 3 games? If Jaakola's only out for up to another month then I'd stick with JVS longer and we may have to get another goalie in, even if it is only as back up to JVS as I've no idea what Armstrong is like should JVS get injured or sent off in a match.

If JVS is good enough to have an understudy I wonder what quality that would mean? Is Mark McChrystal available?

Entertaining but we could have easily been two down, van der star made some good saves, Nicho and messi looked sharp and Bran the man should have had a hat trick, thought Mike Baldwin and Alfie were our best defenders. What I'm concerned about is the season could end at any time and it could be after some hard fixtures meaning we are in the bottom 4, so think will be happy to stay up this year. We need a prolific striker there must be another Kevin Doyle in Ireland, recruitment has been decent so come on Tommy need another JCH. It's like reading an episode of Billy the Fish.

If the Blackpool player didn't miss the header, he would have cost us 2 today. Against MK his bad kick lead to the 2nd goal, when we were on top looking like we could equalise, then it was game over. Against Plymouth early on at 0 0 a cross was going into his chest, but he decided to punch it and it went to their player, who luckily messed it up, or else it would have been a different game. People are only saying he played well now, as they expected him to be even worse.

Tbh JVS gives me the shits, yes he was sort of okay today but he’s so f**king weird in everything he does for a keeper. Not natural making saves, just looks uncomfortable. I would like to say he’s gonna get better, but........? I know what you mean. He played well today and was brilliant v Plymouth but when he plays well he looks like an outfield player playing a blinder in goal. Ultimately it doesn’t matter how you save them as long as you save them, David De Gaia the Man UTD keeper is another very unorthodox keeper and he’s done alright.

There's nobody better on the bench? Then again they might be somebody better than Westbrooke! Funny, I'm sure he set up both goals

He’s scored 8 goals this season and works his socks off hardly sh**e. Exactly. Some of the comments on here (excepting tbone’s which are tongue in cheek) about him are so harsh. He’s had a great start to his Gas career and has so much potential to improve further.

He saves as many with his feet as he does with his hands but he’s gone on to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and won player of the season for them four times. There is potential for JVS to become a good keeper, he just needs experience, coaching and confidence.

I don't see the effort everyone else seems to see, but that's fine, but I did see two missed chances that were inexcusable for a striker. I too hope he improves.

Then again they might be somebody better than Westbrooke! Funny, I'm sure he set up both goals 1st goal - Oz to Sammy to Hanlan . 2nd goal, cross by Leahy, header and finish by Sammy.

Can’t believe the comments about Hanlan not being good enough but I guess we all have opinions. Penalties get missed and at least it was better than JCHs at Pompey last time we were there. The open miss a few minutes later was worse. Strikers miss chances but I’d imagine that his conversion rate from chances he has to goals scored must be pretty good. He’s got 8 so on target for just under 20 for the season so that could be a total we’d have settled for back in August. The guy brings a lot to the team, often plays as a lone striker, holds the ball up well, scores a few and the opposition put at least one player to mark him with another in reserve so he keeps the defence busy. He also takes a battering from defenders but stands up to it well. Whole hearted player with what appears a great attitude and I’d bet he’s played through some minor niggles with the battering he takes for the team. Obviously not the finished product yet but I hope we keep coaching him to improve because he seems to have a great attitude. Well done to him for his 100% effort when chances have been pretty thin on the ground. Hopefully Tis is starting to address that now. Well done Tis and the team for yesterday, great to see the fight and determination to get the win. UTG!

Doesn't get any easier after more than sixty years. It was a great game to watch with plenty of quality football and both teams looking to score goals. However like you I found it a rather nervy watch and in particular the last 15 minutes. If I had put a bet on it would have only made it only more nerve racking. I think there should be a special Queens Honours Award for achieving 60 years as a Gashead. What's more deserving than a bloke driving a racing car around a circuit for a shed load of money or a you?
