One goal for Carlisle in 21 games says it all. Not the first Scot to fail in England and want to go back north of the border.

Bit harsh on Scottish strikers, plenty have made a good career down south, you've either got to talent etc or you haven't,being English won't guarantee you twenty goals a season.

Just saying not the first to come into the football league, fail and return to the Scottish leagues. My post was quite obviously not aimed at all Scottish strikers and certainly did not infer any English striker would guarantee you 20 goals a season. Says it all in Reillys case leaving a club at the top of league two fighting for promotion and only scoring one goal.

He was alright with us. Nothing special but compared to Luke James and Tom Nichols he was like an Alan Shearer.

He played for The Rovers, something most of us can only dream about. I wish him well wherever he ends up (except the one club!) - and will enjoy reading news of goals etc on Final Score and telling my wife, "He used to play for The Rovers". She won't be the slightest bothered, though.

Good luck to him. Sadly, his foray into the lower reaches of English football did not work out. The fact that he has signed for a Scottish Premier league club shows the relative comparisons between the the two nations football clubs.

Does anyone not remember his last minute equaliser at Plymouth? Limbs all round!

It must take some time to get into the pace of the game and learn how your midfield are putting the ball and what your strike partner is lovely to do. If he had played the whole of 4 or 5 matches I'm certain he would get more than 1 goal.

He’s got a poor scoring record wherever he’s been , makes me wonder how he’s still playing at a fairly decent level. Perhaps there’s much more to his game than goals , I can’t really remember him very well, I think he played up front with Kuffour and we were pretty crap during those times ?

Blimey first Chris Lines and now Gavin Reilly takes some stick! He played a few games for us but never got a real run in the team. But I’ll remember that equaliser at Argyle which really p***** off Adams. Not many goals but that one was memorable. He relocated down here with a new-born I think so it must have been hard for him. Wasn’t good enough for us but he played for us, so good luck to him and I hope he does well. UTG!
