Nichols was excellent today. Keowns comments spot on. When playing against better quality those deft touches show. Never been a bad footballer, Crawley just playing to his strengths Makes one wonder whether Tisdale could have got him playing to his potential. He certainly looked like a rejuvenated player today

Regarding Kilgour , players drift in and out of form. From his time at Rovers so far I’d say he’s progressed well and is now an a average league 1 defender. Yesterday he played very well and I think there’s more to come from him but I don’t expect performances like that every match because he’s still young and still learning. I expect all of our defenders to look better once we’ve got a good defensive midfielder in front of them, I think Upson is past his best and I don’t rate Grant as good enough for league 1 yet although like Kilgour he’s young and will probably improve. We’ve got the keeper situation sorted we now need to add another striker and a defensive midfield general. That’s not based on yesterday or any one game I’ve been saying it all season but if we can add those in this window then a top half finish is possible. If we don’t I fear we’ll be looking over our shoulders for the rest of the season. Agree with most of which you stated. Think Kilgour has vastly improved since PT has taken over. Ehmer needs to play at Centre back and the RB position needs to be addressed. Also a striker to partner Hanlon must be a priority. One thing that was very noticeable yesterday was the pace of the Sheffield forwards. Was it our guys are slow or is it that Premiership players are a lot faster ? I also think Day could be our next number 1. I'm yet to be convinced by either Ehmer or Baldwin, I'm certain Craig or Locks would have won the tackle the latter failed to make leading to the second goal. Craig may have also kept Leahy on his toes for a full game, as he seems to make far more poor decisions this season. Personally I'd look to sign a dominant centre back rather than yet another CM we can bring back Ogogo as competition for the DCM position this season.

I don’t think Barrett can be judged until he’s made at least several 90 minute appearances regardless of perceived fitness issues. Shame about sloppy mistakes giving the ball away in defence but we look in good form at the moment. Let’s hope we can keep it going in the league and push for play-offs come the run in! UTG Play offs?!!!! I’m usually optimistic but I’m looking at the bottom 4 teams and hoping we stay above them. Sign a big experienced striker and a right back and we should have enough for mid table, and then we need to hope our assets aren’t being looked at this Jan transfer Losing Kilgour/Nicholson/Hanlan would leave us with a very ordinary looking squad! UTG You’d like to think our best assets such as Nicholson and Hanlan are unlikely to leave having recently signed contracts with us this season. I get your point but we are playing our most creative football going forward for a while, if we can stop the mistakes at the back you never know!

That's being a bit naive as we know from the summer that if any club comes in with a decent offer then our best players will leave, in fact that's the model Wael's trying to create, although I'm not sure any of our players have been consistent enough for them to be that attractive to top 6 L1 clubs etc.

Besides, all of our contracts are water tight anyway.

According to the Sheffield Star, both teams made £144,000 from BT! Seems a lot but great if true! 👍

We earned 1st round 17k 2nd round 25500 and 37.5 t.v money from darlo game. Plus t.v money from round 3 and highlights money from 3 ties. I expect when you add it all up we made around £120 - £150 k . Of course they take £80k for winners which suggest t.v money for 3 round was around £ 60-70k. We earned £60k in papa and a win tommorow will boost it to £100k..

Never been a bad footballer, Crawley just playing to his strengths Leeds were a bunch of pussycats. No interest in playing, or in the FA cup. It was obvious to see, unlike Spurs & Sheff Utd who were up for winning. Creepy Crawley had an easy ride. And the Leeds goalie was wearing a red shirt underneath.

I’m not sure, don’t forget that it was Sheff Utds first game and they are saying they earned 205k? 65k for wining and 144k for tv, something doesn’t quite add though? Still it sounds like a tidy sum for us.

Yeah it sort of makes sense now, that means we made over 200k for our fa cup games. Very nice 👍

It was good to see some favourable comments from Chris Wilder about our Manager and Team.
I guess it was probably partially out of relief that his side had won for the first time but made a nice change from some of the miserable/"sour grapes" comments we seem to get from other Division 1 Managers.

Life is full of ifs and buts ...
After Sheff Utd would have been Plymouth at home ... and possible city in the 5th round!
