As a defender I was always taught unless the keeper clearly shouts you clear the ball and ask questions afterwards so whilst I see where your coming from I think Grant needs to take responsibility and clear his lines. Either way it's an absolutely awful goal to give away I’ve played as a keeper all of my life so whilst I tend to agree I’m also aware that Grant is young and ( in my opinion) not very good. In those situations if I don’t trust the man on the front post to put his life on the line I give a massive shout either way. Like I said as long as they sort it out and it doesn’t happen again. As a fellow member of the goalkeeping union, I’m inclined to agree, but having watched the highlights, there is a very clear call of “away”, so why Grant left it is a mystery to me.

Not looking for a scapegoat but Westbrooke does my head in shirks most 50/50 balls or contact, ok may not be his game but when your looking for your team to roll their sleeves up its disappointing, offered nothing today with his distribution either, so overall a poor game. Couldn't agree more. Was driving me mad with the way he kept pulling out of tackles. We don't expect our players to be world beaters but 100% effort and application should be a given. Today westbrooke did not deliver on these fronts and his body language made this even more apparent to me. I'd take Sercs over Westbrook everytime, BG dismantled what was a reasonable squad and made it a very poor one. Our best players, apart from Nicholson, are loanees McCormick and Oztumer and we now have around 10 players who need to be moved on/loaned out.

Day - 7 At Fault for the Goal Hare - 7 Okay First half Harries - 7 Close up the hole when he came on! Kilgour - 7.5 Fairly solid first half Baldwin - 6.5 Struggled and got turned a bit too often. Leahy - 7.5 Had a good game and was pretty solid today. didn't get forward enough today (unlike the mid-week game) Grant - 7.0 Did what he was asked to do! an Okay Game Rodman - 6.5 Only this low because he was subbed on 30 mins too late Upson - 7.0 Thought he had a solid game within the remit of how he's being asked to play. Westbrooke - 6.5 Not his best game & let his frustrations with strikers show. McCormick - 8 Best player by far. Very good game almost felt like we were conceding the match seeing him subbed off - MOM Barrett - 7 Did nothing when he came on. Would have preferred to see him alongside McCormick instead of replacing him. Hanlan - 5.5 Tough day at the office - marked out of the game today Ayunga - 3 Woeful! Woeful! & out of his depth How can most of the players warrant a 7 mark in such a woeful performance/game? If Day was at fault for the goal surely that's a point deducted? Likewise Hare was subbed for letting the right winger have to much space.

Agreed 100%. Have a look at some of the ratings that Sam Frost gave on Tuesday night. The man does not have a clue. I wouldn't have marked him as highly as Sam Frost but I think woeful is very harsh. He won his fair share of headers, had a late shot blocked that looked like it was going in and and created the best chance we had all game. I think we have to remember he's stepped up 3(?) divisions and this was his first league start. A lot for him to work on but I'm certainly not writing him off after one start Yeah he certainly wasn’t our worst forward today and if Hanlan had put the very good chance that Ayunga gave him on a plate we would have gone 1-0 up. Because we started with Ayunga today and we lost I feel there’s plenty putting the blame at his door. But I think he did pretty well considering it was his full league debut. Others around him had far worse games. I’m not saying he’s ready but he was called upon and he did ok.

Personally I think we have very good players but as we’ve now changed shape it is unbalanced where injuries expose us. I think we should send a few out on loan to get experience - Hargreaves, Liddle, Tutonda or Koiki, Davies when fit (to get match fitness), Walker.... and bring in a right back, centre forward or 2....

Not to despondent after this loss, even game where we hoped we would get the lucky break, shame it went there way, suppose its a plus that we kept a free scoring side to 1 fluke of a goal, but also highlighted how much we miss Sam and James Day, still feel we are in good hands and look forward to Paul Tindale's reshaping of squad, don't hold with those moaning about him already!

Well said outsidehitter30. Ayunga was woeful and well out of his depth, unable to hoild it and win headers. Yet Sam Frost gives him 7 out of 10. What did he watch Agreed 100%. Have a look at some of the ratings that Sam Frost gave on Tuesday night. The man does not have a clue. In his defence he is coming from a neutral perspective. Many on here have their own pre prepared scapegoat for every game and would give their favourite target a rating of 1 out of 10 regardless of what happened in a particular game!

Because the camera follows the ball when 2 or 3 opposition players appear on the edge of our box totally unmarked there's no way of knowing why they are unmarked . i can't wait to watch live and really see what's going on . And the cameraman has an obsession with zooming in and then forgetting to zoom out. Driving me insane!

Make no doubt about it Grant was to blame. Tisdale knows this too but isn't going to blame him in public.

We have been woeful today.... Like other posters, I can't see how we will get enough points to stay up.... Worrying times Bit of an over reaction as always😂. We were poor today, but were missing Nicholson and Ozhemer, our two most creative player’s. We still would have took a point, if Alfie converted the decent chance at the end. We are not on the zone and have two games in hand. We might end up going down, you never know what will happen. But it’s over the top to say, I can’t see how we wil get enough points to stay up. I'll put on it on record.. We're not going down. (feel free to bump this if I'm wrong and I will look a dick).

Woeful! & out of his depth Got to disagree with your ratings of Hanlan and Ayunga. Hanlan had a great chance on his left foot in plenty of space and completely fluffed it. Ayunga had the ball over the top he controlled beautifully, did a couple of step overs to beat his man and had a powerful left footed shot blocked. Could have done with him on the end of Hanlan's chance tbh. I reckon your two marks should be the other way around.

There’s been plenty slagging off Upson on here lately and Ogogo too but those players wouldn’t have done that. So many of our problems this season defensively have been down to having a pedestrian ball watcher in the side. For me going forward it’s 4231 Ogogo and Westbrooke/ Upson def mids Nicholson otzumer Mc Cormick Hanlan. Grant has potential but it’s like playing with 10 men at times he just doesn’t get involved and doesn’t seem to want to put his neck on the line which has left our defence exposed all season.

No Marshy, it's not that simple... It's pretty much the biggest insult you could give me You have called me a shithead..so apologize for it As you don’t seem to be letting it go / taking it somewhere else as requested by two mods now and as Marshy has done, I think it’s best if you serve a short one week ban. Don’t like doing it but if the match day threads are to be ruined by incessant bickering as mods we feel it’s the best course of action, in order to get the best user experience for everyone.
Axe. [ Anyone who has read the match day thread probably thinks Jaxx has overreacted. But we also have no idea what is going on in his life that could have potentially caused the reaction. We are living in worrying times, he may have lost some some close, lost his job or simply have money concerns, we don’t know. So what we need to do is think before we post on here, especially if you are going to call someone a sh** head. It’s probably the worst insult most on here could think of other than being called GGMI’s love child, most would bat it off but you never know. Think before you post and if what you have written might cause offence. Don’t do it.

Shame to lose to such an awful goal but they had the better chances. We did ok in the first half but we’re poo, regardless of the goal, in the second. I like Westbrook but I thought that was his worst game of the season. Ayunga has potential and is worth persevering with, he laid it on a plate for Hanlan in the first half and had that gone in we would have seen a different game. Sooner Daly is available the better

I guess it all comes down to knowing your teammates and understandably Day doesn't have that knowledge yet. As for Grant there is potential there but I'm not convinced we need both him & Upson in the same side if we're setting up with a diamond, if we're playing 4231 that's a different matter but not sure we needed both the way we set up today. Agreed. 4222 what kind of formation is that. If we’re going to do something like narrow formation then you have to have wing backs bombing forward which mean 352. Today was neither it was sh**e Trying to remember who it was who used to play 4 CMs in a 442 for us not that long ago. Was it Ward? Whoever it was it was sh**e.

If Westbrooke is a holding midfielder he needs to get way more stuck in. I'd be more tempted to play him further forward.

People blaming either grant or day for the goal today are half right. It’s up to the keeper and whoever is on that front post to be clear about shouts. I reckon neither of them shouted so they’re both at blame. These things happen particularly when you’ve got a new keeper but the most important thing is that Day and the defence get together this week and sort it. Why do you need a shout when the balls heading towards you? As the other poster suggests Ogogo would have let them ball though. If you're going to cover the near post surely your job is to stop the ball reaching the goal/6 yard box?

One moment apart from the goal summed up Grants inept performance today. Westbrooke played a free kick out to him on the right hand side of their box. Instead of crossing it in where we had loads of bodies, he played the ball backwards and it ended up with Harries in our own half.

Having someone alongside you constantly talking you through a game is massive help to any young player, I'm sure if you asked Kilgour the main thing he misses about Tony Craig he'd tell you it's his communication. Ive no idea why Grant left it but a more experienced player probably clears that ball without being told
