We will miss both Oztumer and Nicholson, I fear. They both frighten defenders and without both I think we might struggle to create chances. 0-2 to Charlton unfortunately. The positive is that I'm usually wrong when predicting scores and results.

Ha yeah same as that , such an exciting player to watch bombing down that wing. We had some great left sided players at twerton.... Purnell, Nixon, pounder, I think even Browning started as a left winger.... Good times on the terrace.... Nixon and Pounder ‘great’ players? Not sure if Browning ever player on the wing. I remember him being converted from a Striker to a box to box midfielder - by Malcolm Allison? A great athlete and underrated player. Saw him about five years ago - he was coaching Wimborne U18’s in the Junior Premier League, his son was playing alongside my nephew. |

What's happened to Nicholson ? Offski? Remember when Barry Hayles was 'injured'? He’s got a hip injury.... I think it highly unlikely he’ll be off this window as his partner has just given birth to their child, he’s just bought a house and he’s openly said he feels really settled. Add to that he only signed 6 months ago and he's just starting to play his best football after being a slightly unfit at the start of the season and he comes across as a player who knows we are an improving team and he does seem to have some loyalty about him - a move this window seems highly unlikely..... won’t say it 100 % won’t happen but I just think it’s really really unlikely..... |

I'm happy to see Ayunga and Hanlan playing together.
Ayungo needs to use his size to his advantage and hold the ball up and just be a pest yo the centre halves

Would love to know what PT sees in Upson .. I just dont get it, the bloke is awful. Nice to see two strikers on the pitch though - Pass bought. Agree.Upson doesn't get very involved at all,hasn't scored all season doesn't tackle and is just peripheral. |

Onto today’s game.... line up is pretty much what I expected with Hares mobility and crossing gettIng the nod over the more stable and defensive Little. Tough but open game and the key will be who can win the midfield.... I’m predicting an open, end to end, entertaining 1-1 draw.... or a sneaky 2-1 win for us.....

He’s not spectacular but he holds the ball, plays it simple and calms us down.... he also breaks play up fairly well and has a great long shot on him.... there’s a few players that seem to get the ‘treatment’ on this forum - Leahy (who I also think is a good League 1 footballer and our best left back in a flat back 4), Upson ( because he’s not your skilful ball playing beat the man twice over blood and thunder midfielder) and Baldwin (who I think is a very good centre back who wins most headers and tackles and clearances and can also play a bit)..... might be just me but I find some overly harsh criticism and massive underrating of these 3 |
