I hope we see Josh Grant on the wing again tonight.
The best winger the club has seen since Tom Parkes IMO.

Sorry lads can only see a loss at the mo Please Paul pull something out the hat and stop this losing run Heart says 1-1. Head says 2-0 loss I suspect Do you think he'll have his flat cap, beanie or trilby?

No loss in 9 (all comps) but no win in 3 either, they haven’t won a game yet this year. They’re doing better than us so far but they’re far from anything special, we could win but maybe we’ll lose.. maybe we’ll draw.. it’s not gonna be as bad as people are making out on here today tho lol I can see this getting bumped tonight after we’ve been hammered. Hope I’m wrong. It’s welcome to be bumped it doesn’t make a difference lol my point is anything can happen and we have every chance. People are talking like Crewe are the best team in the country just because we’ve had a sticky patch and they haven’t lost in a few. our full strength 11 is a good team and we won’t be far off fielding it for this game, If Oz and Nicholson were in the team I’d be talking about winning with confidence. Hopefully we’ll all be happy at the final whistle

I'm reasonably positive about tonight, I'd like to see Ogogo in for Grant and Erhun to come back in as well.

I think if we can target the player that replaces Perry Ng with some direct passes into Ayunga then we could find some useful openings.

Our record in these kind of games (cold, wet, midweek, up north) has been very poor over the years so I'd be more than happy with a draw!

Another team where we have a poor record and have not beaten for a while, in fact our last victory was nearly a quarter of a century ago (albeit we have only played them 7 times since our last win)

I think we're overpriced to win tonight at 9/2. I'm expecting a draw though. Tis is wise enough to want to stop the rot of the 3 defeats in the past week. I wouldn't begrudge a draw as gives us something to build on.
Also Crewe will be without the outgoing captain, Ng.

Stick to 4-2-3-1
Day
Ehmer Kilgour Baldwin Leahy
Grant Ogogo
Westbrook Ozzy McCormick
Hanlan
Nicholson for Westbrook if fit
This system suits our play, we can always replace one of the 3 with Ayunga and go 4-4-2 if needed.
I’m not overly happy with Grant & Ogogo but probably the best scenario we have at present. At least Ogogo can tackle.

I imagine we could easily get it out to the wings or find the space and the likes of Hanlan and Nicholson could be super effective facing goal with the ball at their feet. Only Problem would be who would then be our front men? and who would be our centre mids... GK & Defense Nicholson - Westbrooke - Grant - Hanlan Ayunga - New Guy Or GK & Defense Nicholson - Westbrooke - Grant - Barrett Ayunga - Hanlan just feels a bit bare but we have wingers or players that can do that in the shape of Nicholson, Koiki, Barrett, Tuntonda etc Don't often see the wide 4-4-2 in todays game... so may it work lol?

Both of your sides are missing 2 of our best players in Luke and Oz. They would be first on my team sheet.

I personally feel the problem is not only the players we have been missing but the failure to pressurize opponents in their half of the pitch. We need to push up a bit and stop opponents dictating play from the back because not doing this creates a very open midfield as well. Our full b acks are also very guilty of giving their opponent too much space. We look a very disorganised team and this also shows when we have a corner and our opponents break and suddenly have a clear run on goal from all over the place. We NEVER get this situation for us because Tis has everybody back for corners- terrible tactics and we still concede from a corn er with everybody back!!

We seem to play all our football within 20 yards of the half-way line, with our midfield set too deep. I'm keen to see whether we can improve on this tonight.

I agree with both of you but I think the reason we do this (defend deep & don’t press) is because we seriously lack pace across our back 4 - Kilgour is extremely slow, Baldwin isn’t much quicker and Leahy & Ehmer/Hare are pretty once-paced for modern-day fullbacks. I fear any fast opposition strikers/wingers would have a field day against us if we played a higher line with our current defence.

I think I read Perry Ng's dad is from Singapore, which explains the name! We lost 5-2 at home to Crewe in 2011! Christ who was that under? Buckle? I like Tisdale's funky fashion, but it's interesting that most managers choose to wear their clubs apparel when presumably they don't have to. I seem to remember in the National League all the managers had to wear the league's branded clothes with Vanarama on it?
