People can refer to stats etc all they like, but the reality is that Crewe could easily have had 5 or 6 tonight and whilst we were better second half, we didn't create many clear cut chances against an average league one defence. Quite a lot of pinball in their box but we didn't really create much in comparison to Crewe who looked dangerous every time they went forward.

Looks like tbone's wish will be granted - Hanlan limps off to make us even more toothless up front. Ive been a big fan of Hanlan all season but since he missed that pen and the other sitter in that game a couple of weeks ago he seems half the player. Thing is he could have had a hat trick in that game but still scored one which is the sign of a good forward getting in to scoring positions having shots , scoring some , missing some. But yeah since then he’s been terrible.

Thats a game I'm going to forget quickly.
McCormick the only player that stood out for me
Ehmer did okay, not as a CB but going forward.
PT needs to sort this sh!t out we can't keeping conceding goals like that and expect to stay up but its been like this since the start of the season so can't see it changing now.
Doesn't look good for potential players coming in as that might put them off.
First half awful
Second half not great but better
If we pick up points against Oxford or Peterborough I'll be amazed.
UTG! Night Gasheads!

To be fair, thought 2nd half we played well deserved a draw, best we played for a bit, lack that spark up front which Nicholson gives, but at least heads didn’t drop, just can’t score from open play

We were unlucky to lose that IMO. Good display from us, just didn’t defend set pieces and crosses properly which ended up shooting us in the foot and giving Crewe the three points.
Positives were, we’ve had more possession and shots on target away to a Crewe side that are flying, 9 games unbeaten for them. Hanlan, Westbrooke, Ehmer and McCormick the standout performers for us. We had some spells where we dominated the possession and camped in their half, need to be more creative with the possession.
Firmly believe that we can turn this around, however we need a little bit more going forward and to sort our defending crosses and deadballs. Big couple of weeks ahead for Tisdale.

Need a defensive coach, at least one attacking player and a natural right back else we will be in trouble. this.

I’ve been a fan of him but he got it massively wrong tonight , Crewe weren’t that good and he came for a scrappy Tough hard crap game without the players to carry that off. Should have started with Ogogo with that mindset

am i the only one that thought we were superb , with a bit of luck we would have won it was just unfortunate that every time we were threatening one of their players collapsed in agony .

Thrilling 2nd half, should have gone for it from the off. As others have said we are only losing by the odd goal without some of our best players so not all hope is lost!
On the other hand we have Oxford next who have won the last 5, then Peterborough who have won 3 on the trot. Taylor and JCH will have a field day against our defence!

Too many players that just aren't good enough. Defending is absolute sh**e for want of a better word. If he has to play Grant then why not play him in his correct position in the back to add a bit of pace. We have actually played pretty well tonight with Crewe only getting anywhere due to our defensive mistakes on all their goals. Need to get rid of most of our defenders in the summer and start again on the defence. Ayunga was dreadful when he came on as was Koiki. Thought Barratt did ok but thank god Rodman didnt come on any earlier. We look good until we get near to the goal and to be honest I don't see us picking any points up from Peterborough or even our guaranteed three points at Oxford.

Lots of critism for the defence but I thought the winning goal was Days fault, header was only 3 or 4 yards out so keepers ball for me.

Tisdale lost us that before a ball had been kicked.
Embarrassing starting XI. There’s no excuse to ever start a match with only 1 attacking player on the pitch. I’d expect us to be more adventurous than that if we were playing Man City, let alone Crewe.
He ballsed that.

So if Hanlan is injured where does that leave us with attacking options? In the sh*t. Many blame Garner for the lack of strikers but the head of Recruitment must surely shoulder some of the blame

First goal not switched on, second deflection so acceptable, third unacceptable defending, if we do not get a proven striker in we will get relegated.
Let's not kid ourselves we are not too good to go down.
All sides that struggle lack proven goalscorers and unless we rectify that we are down.

Yeah my head is spinning with the logic on here- we were the better side and unlucky to lose to a team who scored three and had one cleared off the line despite not playing better than a side who scored less goals? Have I got that right? If I have then **** me I’m glad Crewe didn’t turn up tonight because we would really have been in trouble.

we did well to get back into the game. Formation perhaps wasn't the right one but maybe we had little choice with the injuries. Bad defending though, we should have done better with their first and third goals imo, just switched off. This has got to be top priority in training, we can't keep conceding so many 'easy' goals.
Going forward we're just lacking a little class, would be nice if Hanlan had someone up top with him. If he takes on a shot a little sooner we could have a decent striker on our hands but in truth we need reinforcements to support him asap.
Happy with the second half performance, at least we gave it a go. Onto Oxford, I'm hoping for a last minute own goal from the snake to give us the win!
