I’m most disappointed in Grant, as a CDM, he’s not involved enough. He goes missing, his touch has been woeful in the last couple of games. For our more attacking midfielders to flourish, they need Grant or Ogogo to there jobs. I also think our biggest miss is ANSI, he’s such a presence in goal, gives huge confidence to our defence, it’s no coincidence that we’ve looked so poor since he got injured.

I haven't liked Grant as a player pretty much since his first game and think it's just because he doesn't do what he's supposed to do in that role he plays.
Suppose to break up play, protect the back 3/4 and when winning the ball pass it to someone who can run forward with it. Definitely doesn't do those things.
I would like someone like Stuart Sinclair in that role. So one who's not affriad to tackle and will just run around all game getting in everyone faces and clipping at their heels not giving them a second of peace.

I just wish we could close teams down quicker. Oxford hadn't played for a while and yet when we had the ball they often had 3 players closing and pressing to win the ball back. Posh beat us earlier in the season because we gave them space and time to shoot, our midfield didn't shut them down quickly enough. Surely being able to close down is not a skill as such? Just down to effort and determination. For me being committed is a minimum for a central based midfield player.

I feel like we really saw the best of Grant today in a partnership with Ogogo. Made me think perhaps we set up a bit defensively today but it allowed us to completely dominate a top top midfield and they did push us forward and involve themselves in attacking play. Well done Abu and Josh let’s hope PT was as impressed as I was 👍🏼

Totally agree with that until tonight ( I realise you posted this pre match). Hopefully Tisdale will give Ogogo and Grant a run as a partnership after tonight I think they deserve it both 9/10 performances.

Grant and Westbrooke are not up for a relegation battle, I really hope we show a bit of intent and McCormick and Hargreaves come in for Baldwin/Ehmer and Grant Saturday.

Grant was quality tonight after being poor in most matches this season apart from showing a bit of potential here and there. Did you watch the match ?. Dropping a young player who just had his best game in a Rovers shirt would be mental. Tisdale needs to make sure those two recover properly over the next few days and if they’re both ok after working themselves in to the ground tonight then they should definitely start again Saturday. Tonight was the only time this season that we’ve played a good side and our defensive midfielders have covered well and bossed the midfield they were both excellent. Mc Cormick is class and has a big part to play I’m sure. A good football team is all about creating partnerships and for the first time this season tonight it looked to me at least like we had one in midfield.

Agree Socrates, Assume KingswoodisBlue was either joking or had fallen over his white stick!! I have to say that I didnt think Ogogo and Grant together could work but was proved wrong tonight-they were superb but so were most of the team.

Totally agree on what's been said, our midfield was much better tonight. Lots of press and a bit of aggression. Grants best game in a rovers shirt. They did both tire towards the end on a heavy pitch, but overall a big improvement.

Grant has been guilty of watching his man run off into the box and leave him for dead a few times that I’ve noticed in a few games, but I missed yesterday’s game and a lot of people on here dishing him out high praise so maybe that’s just past mistakes that can be left in the past.. hope so

Agreed, watched the extended highlights to enjoy a bit more of that performance and when the whistle goes he slumps down dead on his arse... shows how much of a shift he put in on that pitch! Fair play long may that continue lad

Do you think it could have been the influence of Ogogo playing next to him? He certainly seems like the leader type. Tillson made Foster a better player, same with Elliott and Anthony

Agree with your ansi point, I can’t say for sure obviously but I’m sure he was very vocal with the defence and played a big part in the organisation, big miss
