Gasincider - RIP Brian Williams

I went to see Dad on Saturday who is in a nursing home on palliative care and he was for a snippet of time quite chirpy and back to my Dad again. When Dad used to come to away matches with me not that long before the pandemic started we always used to catch up with Brian, Wombat and the lads in the services after the matches. One pre season game at Salisbury we caught up with him and he said to me ‘Alright Rich, where’s your Dad’? To which I replied‘sorry Bri, he passed away last night’. You should have seen Brian’s face when we owned up that we were joking. That was the sort of relationship we had. Nothing was too serious. Dad was always called Zombie from then onwards by Bri & Wombat. All in jest. Lighthearted just how it should be. Bri & I didn’t always agree on things but that’s what makes unique people unique. Will miss Brian but couldn’t bring myself to tell Dad of Brian’s passing when I saw him at the weekend. Sleep soundly mate. I know your family are oh so proud. UTG
