For all the issues we have being a gashead this season it beggars belief to read what those tossers have to say about their current manager/players! Yeah shoot me down for having a nose at their forum but when you read how they feel about their team that's only 3 points off the playoffs it makes my blood boil. They slate their manager and players something rotten and yet their a top 10 championship club now! I think for all the negative things people say on here about our club it's a damn lot less than those inbred twats south of the river so yes feel free to have a dig but I'm proud to be a gashead who sticks by their club through thick and thin unlike our trashy neighbor's

Not sure the OP read the comments about GC as he was taking us towards a playoff place.
I don't think we're any better or worse. Just as inconsistent and fickle.

I did say don't shoot me down and I only looked on their forum after seeing a snippet from the bristol post. Why do you feel so angry towards a fellow gashead looking at another rivals forum? I was trying to point out the fact our fans have more loyalty and friendly fans in difficult times but you strike me as an immature tool after that post. Im guessing you think I'm a shithead now and not a loyal Gashead just for looking on their forum.

In fairness, quite a few on here were behaving in the same way as you describe when we were in 4th place prior to Christmas 2019.

Those who were calling GC a PE teacher, mocking his Irish heritage, calling his football sh**, abusing him from the terraces and some even sending his family abuse, got what they deserved when he had enough and upped sticks to go to Mansfield.
Those who were shooting down Ollie Clarke after every game, saying Tony Craig was too slow, and claiming Liam Sercombe was past it. Those who challenged JCHs attitude, wouldn’t you like him back now?
And those calling Wael a fake sheik lucked out when he cleared our debts and personally paid for a multi million training ground investment.
Those who continuously shoot down our ramshackle stadium. Wouldn’t it be nice to watch a match now?
We are no better.
I’d give my right arm to go back to 5pm walking out of our rundown little stadium with my nephews, brother and father, after that home game against Southend where that second half was probably the most entertaining half of football I’d seen in the last 4 years. Where we were charging up the league. Where we could still go to games and Covid was just about still in a bat or a possum or something in Wuhan.
For supporters of Bury they won’t ever get to return to see their club play in their ground.

In fairness, quite a few on here were behaving in the same way as you describe when we were in 4th place prior to Christmas 2019. Exactly, under DC we were getting regular 9,000 crowds to watch us mid table, pushing automatics under GC and only 7,000 were showing up.

To be fair to them, if I was a shithead I too would not be a happy bunny. Why? Because every Manager they have had in recent years has been backed by Lansdown with money we could only dream of. They could and should have at least managed the play offs on more than one occasion and have failed to do so in spite of 20k support and a stadium and training ground at Failand we can only dream about. People on here have been saying to bring us success all we need is a decent trading ground and stadium and success will automatically arrive. That has clearly not happened in their case because as you move up the pyramid expectations are raised and the graph has flattened in spite of the many players costing millions who they have bought and sold to achieve their goal. Why is anyone's guess but in our case in spite of what we all desire we have remained as we always have been as ragbag Rovers and recent events appear to have curtailed our dreams for yet another season.

When discussing city I always like to take a step back from the “ dirty Sh1!heads, don’t go to the dark side” stereotypes that come with being a rovers fan because I am naturally biased and want them to fail. So I try to look at them as if I was some random joe bloggs just looking at their situation for the first time.
You can’t deny the facilities and the new training ground they’re building is premier league standard, the redevelopment plans of the area around Ashton gate do look state of the art and the rebranding and transformation of the rugby looks to have advanced them to one of the best teams in the world.
But if I was city fan, I think I’d find it pretty infuriating to have one of the richest owners in the country due to his unarguable brilliant business acumen, show his incompetence and lack of learning from his mistakes time and time again when it comes to the running of the football club.
Ever since the Steve coppell debacle he’s never appointed an experienced manager who could push them on the next level. Instead just appointed yes men who have to follow his vision pod where he thinks Bristol city should be and achieving. Compare that to the bears who appointed pat lam, one of the best coaches around and has pushed them to the best they’ve ever been.
Their CEO Mark Ashton IMO is an absolute slimeball. I remember listening to radio Bristol when they appointed Holden, he avoided every question and came across very defensive and arrogant. My mate told me the other day he called them ‘Bristol’. It’s bad enough when a nobody northerner calls both our teams Bristol, imagine your own CEO doing it! Compare him to Bears CEO Chris Booy who’s been there and done it all, knows what it takes to operate a successful rugby club and has the knowledge and experience to help his decision making.
Must be pretty annoying seeing your best players sold year after year and expecting better results every single time, it’s just not plausible.
Whilst I do find the deluded self entitlement of some of their supporters unbearable at times, I also get it must be very frustrating for some of their supporters that just want the ambition shown off the pitch to replicate that on the pitch, just like the bears.

Nowt wrong with having a look at other clubs forums, good to see how things are in the wider football community IMHO. Back in the day you could sit in the stand at Eastville and chat to visiting fans which i always used to enjoy. As for tother mob,(and this may not go down to well on here!) well they have some core fans like us of 6-7000 but the other 13/14000 jumped on the Lansdowne/Bristol sport band wagon and were sold a dream of prem/European football which predictably has never materialised and its prob those that moan the most, there is also ,i think, growing resentment that the Rugby club have taken centre stage and have become the main focus of national attention there and seem to attract the most investment. That investment is understandable as Bristol Rugby has always been a big player in the game where as the football club , despite what there fans may believe, are seen as minor players in the sport. The football club do not attract the best players and even the ones who become same tend to move on. Its the same with Managers, there fans expected Pep, Klopp. and co to come knocking at the door but were chastened when not even lesser men like Houghton fell over themselves to get the job. To an outsiders like us they seem to hold there own in the championship in a nice stadium what's to moan about? for all there wealth they still seem petrified that we are going to catch them soon , after all we are only one promotion or relegation behind them and i think it is this which scares them the most .bring it on!

Message to o p....
The moral of the story is you don't know what you have until it's gone.
We shouldn't fall into the same trap after being humbled into non league. Most of us whom lived through that era would have sacrificed so much to be able to say what we're saying now...in the third division...not threatened by administration.
Be careful which hand you bite...

Be careful which hand you bite... Yeah, no matter how well you do there is always a significant section of a fanbase who want more. Arguably you can say that is reasonable, coz if you don't push forward you will go backwards. But at the same time I think you have to look at the bigger picture and think about where you are and where you can reasonably be, and what you can reasonably demand of your team. Not many on here would be entirely satisfied with lower half of L1, but obviously everyone would prefer that to relegation. I still recall Charlton fans phoning up 606 demanding that Alan Curbishley be sacked coz they wanted to push on to the next level.

I myself must confess to looking at their forum now and again, usually after they have been well beaten, and often around may 2nd as the older element still suffer greatly from that humiliation,I've disliked the club since I was a kid with their sense of self entitlement and always hoping we would disappear and then they could actually be the only club in Bristol, that won't ever happen, actually the unhapper their fan base is the better,in my opinion they have never appreciated how lucky they are,far to quick to moan and if they had been gashead would have given up years ago, long may they stay average.
