Although I do a lot of Painting myself I wouldn't post any of my work but I felt that a work by a friend of mine justified posting. Harold is my favourite Rovers player of all time and the painting I attach is painted in Acrylics by Steve Purkis. I think it is superb and brings out everything about the time and the player. View AttachmentYep, best Rovers player and also my favourite( Bradford just past his peak when i started), can see Harold now ghosting past 2 or 3 players cutting inside before finding the top corner , did it so many times you came to expect it! or alternatively soaring into the air to plant a header into the corner.......... ok I'm lying about that bit but he did score at least once with his head!, great servant to club and a real gent....... Arold, Arold, Arold.........., painting does capture his grace , balance, skill.

Remember being in the North Enclosure when Harold scored twice from 25 yards cutting in from the right against Bradford City in 1971 ( and Brian Godfrey hit 3 ) all in the first 25 minutes or so.

Such great memories of H running the wing and planting a scorcher top right corner, boyhood hero and what would you give for a modern day Harold today !! I sat on the North stand wall as a youngster singing his name and truly believing he could work miracles. Absolute legend.

Maybe contact Tom G and get a few limited edition prints signed by the great man. Could earn a few Bob.
I like the H story from the States. When I retired from NY Cosmos they could only find one player good enough to replace me - Pele!

Bit of a tropical look about the picture. I don't remember the Eastville mud ever being green.

my son has just bought me a painting of eastville stadium pictured from the open end i think it maybe by the same artist oh what a shame he didn't experience eastville years ago i did a bit of filming on a cine camera from inside the ground after me and a mate had watched the reserves it only lasts a couple of seconds but its a panaramic veiw from inside the ground circa 1970 it still brings a tear to my eye! if only i could travel back in time!

I haven't bought it because it is not available for sale as far as I know. The artist is a friend of mine and I just thought it was worth showing other people.
