? It’s nearly 9.30am and there is no Match Day Thread, is the game still on? I recon we can come back with at least a point here.
We seem to have found a bit of resilience they are in a bit of a slump, clearly the resignation of Bowyer will be a factor. Looking forward to this, already watching the clock, can’t wait for 7pm (wishing my life away) UTG.

finally! Almost started my first matchday thread. No idea what will happen, if we can keep it tight first 30 mins, I fancy us to nick something. A point or maybe a last minute winner.

Last n games, it has all been about us NOT taking our chances and other teams scoring with their first / second shots on target? We missed a hatful of clear chances against Wombles and almost paid for it at the end.
We create chances so it’s all about us to make sure we take our chances! If one goes in the rest will follow? Bit like some mates going into the pub; all waiting for first one to enter to buy the round?

Good on yer Cocker, thought for one minute i was going to have to start thread! there is no logical reason for this but i am supremely confident that we will win tonight, just as i had a feeling we would not beat Wombles, i am convinced we will to-night! Come on Rovers!

Team for me, keep back 3 together. Either Nicholson moves to RWB, or give Hare a chance.

Too important a game to start with Walker. Hopefully Rodman will be fit but otherwise start with hanlan and Ayunga up front.

Daly for Walker then, but Hanlan needs a full weeks rest in my view.

Keep the back three as they seem to have built up an understanding - at last.
Hare seems to have slipped down the pecking order under the last two managers - could Hargreaves do a job as RWB? I'd rather keep Nicholson in his usual position.

Was fearful of this one.. too many physically big players against our back 3... the whole Stockley was going to come here etc
Then I watched these highlights:
Shrewsbury carved out a load of really good chances... we are good at that... if we can improve our goal efficiency then I reckon we could hold out for a point or 3. The hardest part is whether we have the legs left for the endless pressing (Upson looked a bit tired at the 80min mark and Rodders limped off)
They way I see it we have 3 options if Rodders is injured and if we are going to stick to the 3-4-2-1 formation:
Ehmer comes in at RCB - Williams to RWB Harries comes in at LCB - Baldwin to RCB and Williams to RWB Replace Rodders with Hare and keep the team the same (somewhat unlikely as he has not made the benches recently)
I have seen and played out the whole Nicholson at RWB but I think he is most dangerous up the other end of the pitch, similar to Westy.
I think 1-1 or 0-1 to the Gas. We will need to be excellent at set pieces and those individual battles Kilgour vs Stockley or Baldwin vs Chuks for example are going to me key along with the press.

If we'd have won against Wimbledon I'd say yes, no problem getting a point, or even sneak a win, but we didn't and unfortunately I can't see anything other than a loss. More than happy to be proved wrong by a great performance and 3 points.

I think messing around with the back 3 against a side with so many strong forwards is the riskiest option. Not ideal for Nicholson to be RWB, but would love to see him running from wide positions again more than he has recently as a 10 or 2nd striker. Hare must not be Joey's kind of player.

I could warm to the Nicholson at RWB for your reasons for sure. Daly or Hanlan could do a job in the vacated position or we could go 3-4-1-2 i suppose

We lost all our attacking edge on Saturday when Hanlan came on ... stumbling around, throwing himself to the ground again, little if any close control so I would leave him on the bench at best.
Sadly Upson was back to his old lazy ways but there is little alternative given injuries.
Take our chances we win -- Big Jonah to score tonight!!
Away Win!!

I’d take a draw tonight in what looks to be a tough game on paper. A win to bury this 1958 statistic would be marvellous.
Would like to see what a partnership of Ayunga and Daly could do. A tenacious Daly could put Charlton defenders under pressure when they have the ball and use his pace when we counter.

If Westbrooke is taken off corner duty and we can sneak a point I'd be a very happy man. UTG

Shame that Hare seems out of favour as he's got a killer cross in him and I reckon he'd take better corners and free kicks than Westbrook. That said he's not a strong defensively as Rodders so this might not be the game for him, I would put Williams at RWB and bring Ehmer or Harries into the back 3.

As it stands, you can get:
Charlton to win: 19/20. Draw: 12/5. Rovers to win: 3/1.
I think that's decent odds for us to get something out of the match, considering the recent upheaval with the host club.
Maybe the best time to play them.
