van Stappershoef 5. Didn't have much to do but doesn't inspire confidence.

Kilgour 5. Tough first half, communication with Williams was poor. Looks a shell of the Alfie of old.
Ehmer 3. Huge disappointment. Has looked non league since he arrived. Would be nowhere near my starting 11.
Baldwin 5.5. Best of a bad bunch at the back. Distribution shocking, but hard on ifollow to gauge how many options he actually has in front of him.

Williams 5.5.Struggled first half, looked more comfortable as one of central three. Steady player.
Upson 5.5. Did ok, worked hard as always.
McCormick 6. Worked hard, always showed for the ball as always. A real talent, would look outstanding in a good team imo.
Leahy 6. Not much impact going forward, steady defensively.

Westbrooke 4. Classic westbrooke. Lots of flicks and back heels but little end product and lightweight out of possession. Just not the player for this situation. Benefit of the doubt, might look good playing in a better team with better players around him...

Hanlan 5. Worked hard, kept going for 90 mins. Needs to stay on his feet. No sign of the 15-20 goals a season player JB promised us.
Ayunga 6. Anything good came from/via Jonah. Another set of opposition commentators who have noted how tough he is to play against. Interested to see how he develops as a player.

Subs: Hare 5. Looked understandably short of match practice and struggled defensively.
Oztumer 6. Nice to see him back. Looked tidy and wanted to drive forward.
Daly 5. Needs longer, not sure why he isn't getting a look in atm. Must stop jumping at keepers - go for the ball ffs
Tutonda 6.5. Great to have dave back. Did well. Want to see him start games further up the pitch as he causes problems.

Ref 8. Did well, didn't miss much and didn't allow much time wasting - makes a change. Bizarre to see sir joey Barton having a go at him at full time.
Plymouth 7. Some really good individual players. We are so poor that they were able to sit back in cruise control for the last 30 mins.

van Stappershoef 7 general handling ok, not at fault with goals.

Kilgour 4 part of a poor collective defence.
Ehmer 2 should not be involved atm.
Baldwin 5 best part of poor collective defence.

Williams 4 conspired with Ehmer to allow too many threats from his position in first half. Better second half in middle of defence.
Upson 5 worked hard no end product.
McCormick 5 gone very much off the boil recently.
Leahy 5 disappointing.

Westbrooke 6.5 some nice passes. Too predictive in dead ball delivery.

Hanlan 5 something not right. Always on floor looking for fouls.
Ayunga 7.5 m o m run well, created exquisite turn and volley but straight at keeper. Good energy.

Subs: Hare 6.5 looked better with his involvement.
Oztumer 6 nice shot but looked like cross that forced keeper into save.
Daly 4 ran around but done nothing.
Tutonda 6 tried hard, was unlucky not to score, but ply defence cut out his opportunity.

Ref 4 should have sent off their Akiobe or whatever name was for 2 yellows, but Kettle always likes his cards.
Plymouth 5 on another day we would have scored a few and perhaps got something out the match. Plymouth defended better, we should be learning lessons, and better finishing made this an easy win for them because we made it easy for them...

Results in and Jonah Ayunga was again Man of the Match with a score of 5.93.

This was Ayunga's 5th MotM and his 4th in just seven league starts. Only Jonson Clarke-Harris has had more MotMs (five) in their first seven league starts (Jack Bonham also had four).

Trevor Kettle's 7.16 was the third highest referee rating of the season, after the 7.23 at Lincoln and 7.70 at Rochdale.

It was highest ever referee rating for a league game we have lost. The previous high was a 7.1 for the referee in a defeat at home to Portsmouth in 2015/16. (There were also higher referee ratings in the cup defeats to Wolves and Brighton in recent years)

The starting XI average was 4.76, the lowest since the 6-1 defeat at Accrington (3.00)
