Well he’s just recently got injured again for about the sixth time in his Preston career, so an injured player taking up an squad spot wouldn’t have done us much good.
Talented player but I can see why they wouldn’t have wanted to take a risk on him if that indeed is true.

Noticed on social media one of r fans mentioned we were offered Bodin in January but Widdrington declined Preston were to pay all his wages anyone heard about this I find it extremely hard to believe that we would be offered a player of Bodin's calibre for FREE / zero wages... let alone decline it.

Noticed on social media one of r fans mentioned we were offered Bodin in January but Widdrington declined Preston were to pay all his wages anyone heard about this Always wary of social media posts - especially after a defeat and where it’s clear that responses to it would be to add more finger pointing at someone who has become the pantomime villain and is to blame for all our woes by a subset of fans. Whilst I don’t know if it’s true or not, I find it highly suspicious as a) A championship club offering a player and saying they’d pay all of his wages (and it not being a cheap youth team player) is unlikely - just look at the demands made by the loan club for Stockley, b) it wouldn’t be Widdrington’s decision. He’d have to consult with the manager and board and c) If it was offered then probably came with a conditional purchase at the expiry of the loan or other clauses. Who knows but I’m in the camp of I think this is a story that has been exaggerated or limited substance. More likely is we enquired, they and Bodin said yes but you pay x and at the end of the loan you have to buy for a set fee - at which point we said no thanks...

yes absolutely true Billy wanted back and we declined He was injured from approx last October and through the transfer window in January. Came back made one substitute appearance and was off injured again until a week ago when he reappeared on the bench for them. Why would we be offered an injured player in January, just Twitter and Facebook users speculating.

cant comment on the financials but we absolutely did turn him down in the window So why didn't anyone mention it a couple of months ago? Just gasheads speculating Paul, a quick look at his appearances.in the Preston team or on the bench will confirm it's all made up bullshit. He is past his sell by date and a sicknote to boot.

Bodins stats this season. . Played first game of season 12/9/20. On bench for next three games. 18/10/20 injured until 30/1/21 when he came back and played one game. Then injured until 20/3/21 when he came back and played a game.

Yeah, that would be absolutely mental. What would the possible drawbacks be? It would make the other players realise how sh** they are?

The Facebook post explicitly said that PNE would pay 100% of his wages, which seemed too good to be true to me.
