If the inevitable happens and we r relegated I wonder if it is written in the players contracts that if it happens will they have to take a wage cut thoughts

I hope so, it’s standard practice to insert relegation wage clauses into players contracts for most clubs.
My fear is that Nicholson or Kilgour might have relegation release clauses.

Knowing our contractual skills we will probably give them a pay rise

Well according to this site we have the sixth biggest wage bill in Division 1 £3,285,880 per year, so we have flashed the cash but with no return. The cancer then that Barton refers to throughout the club must be whoever is responsible for a poor return having paid those wages and us being in the relegation places.

Nicholson has only twelve months left on his contract so I'd be looking to move him on regardless given that I doubt he'd renew.

Would be a great player to build a team around in league two if it comes to it though.

L2 football, pay cuts and many out of contract. I suspect we will see a mass exodus at the end of the season. Which, in my opinion, would not be a bad thing.

Anssi and Nicholson aside, I wouldn’t give a moments thought to any other player in the squad leaving. Kilgour isn’t the player I thought he was. Ayunga has shown flashes but there’s better out there. If these boys carry on with us next season we may well find our stay in league two is a very swift one. 2014 proves we are in no way too big to fall through the divisions.

The way this club operates nowadays Rovers will probably give Barton a pay rise just to keep him here.

Yes, the caps been binned, there was some talk last week of the squad numbers limit still applying but nothings been confirmed.
