Bring off macca he looks shattered. After his two goals I’m sure JB wanted to pull him off. Oooooh..........have you been socialising with Bolders?

I’d pretty much given up hope of staying up but today has made me more hopeful - not just because of the three points but equally as important the mental fortitude to overcome going a goal behind and the battling spirit they all showed. It’s imperative today’s good work isn’t undone by a poor result Saturday. UTG. I don't dare to hope too much yet. If we can beat Morthampton, we will have given ourselves a real chance to survive. Two wins and the confidence that brings could make the difference in the run in.

Good to see after some proper training sessions Ayunga can now win the ball in the opposition half in the air(with his head). Another week and we might see him head a goal in. Then its a whole different ball game from set pieces.
Harries did what he does well today. He still has lapses of concentration though that see a player lose him or find him out of position. For the Baldwin slip ,you might ask "shouldnt it have been harries heading the ball out left side of the pitch ? "
Upson was tired 2nd half and made sloppy mistakes a few times.
Martinez has been a surprise ,not been overwhelmed by being thrown in at all.
Jaakola struggled 2nd half with that low sun in his eyes . You defo want to be kicking towards the tent end on sunny days second half.

I agree with most of these comments Thought Harries did well today, Baldwin made some great blocks generally his play was good but he always has a mistake in him. Upson held us together first half and made numerous errors second half. Ayunga and Hanlon need a crowd to fire them up more. 8000 gas heads shouting shoot might encourage them. Martinez seems quite confident but still adjusting to the pace of the game

I’d already accepted relegation a few weeks ago so these last 8 games or so were a chance to get promoted !

All joking aside I thought all the players put a real shift in today and tbh thought it was right we kept the subs to a minimum as they all gave 100% despite some clearly feeling knackered. Thought our game management was better but still wish the players would get the corner rather than the hopeful ball into the middle to no one.

I'll criticise Hanlan on Saturday I love being proved wrong Utg Today doesn’t prove you wrong last Saturday he’s been dog sh**, and was again today IMO, he was much better today once he was moved out wide but he still needs to offer much more

I'm never confident facing Donny as we have an awful record against them but how wrong I was. Happy days.
Well deserved win that.
Started a little slow but responded brilliantly to going behind and should have been in front by half time. Hanlan twice and either Baldwin or Harries had glorious chances.
We kept the tempo for most of the second half and were unfortunate to have a nervous last 10 because our play deserved at least a 2 goal lead by then.
Would have been roguh justice had they took advantage of Upson's poor pass to snatch an equaliser. Great clearance by Baldwin.
McCormick MOTM but Hanlan also superb.
Every player worked tirelessly and they all played their part in an excellent team performance.
Special mention to Martinez who has been thrown into a relegation dog fight and asked to play out of position. Thought he was outstanding.
So, we're still in with a chance but have to find a way to win successive games and pick up 3 points at Northampton.

Mind you, the same commentators couldn't shut up about Darlington all game and thought we were lucky with an awful lot of referee decisions.

What an important win, at a crucial time. Momentum. Today we got exactly what we deserved, a win. Today we won the battle of hearts.....we simply wanted the win more. Whomever has coached this squad this week needs to take a bow....we were well disciplined in pushing, pressing, harassing in our off the ball non possession game.....it was like the rovers of old. Well done to the management team for this desperate result. By far a perfect performance. Baldwin individual error led to conceding, Upson individual error didn't. Baldwin clears off the line, Jaaaaaaks tips one round the post. Amazingly.....the officials disallowed ( what looked to be a perfectly good goal) for them! Some decisions went for us. Is JAB going to complain about this? Is he going to enter a text with his mate over that incident? McCormick almost perfect performance today. Rightly m o m, but what passion, engine and running from a player that isn't ours? Hanlan took up the Walker role after sub and was my vice m o m with his efforts.... excellent try from him. Westbrooke delivery from set pieces were sometimes awful, but his open play was sublime. Excellent performance from a thoughtful midfielder inspiring confidence. Special mention to Harries. I thought he added a defensive bite, got clearing head on everything, some great passing bisecting their mid....nice play with Baldwin, special mention because of his clearance off the line and almost scored himself! Another point was to bring back a win, a deserved win and great performance from being a goal down shows great character. We're still doomed, but this pattern of play shows we can do something to save ourselves. If we are going down, if we continue to hit those heights of energy and tempo, we'll go down fighting...... pardon the pun on JAB. Well done, us..... UptheGas! “Today we won the battle of hearts” Sums up football doesn’t it. In most cases hard work and determination will beat ability if ability doesn’t work as hard. All season we’ve been saying that we’ve got ability but not enough leadership and fight. Today we showed heart in abundance.

The high press was very good today. Yes hopefully the rest until Saturday before the next match will allow us to keep it up all game, that has been tough on the players, doing it twice a week since the start of the year.

If we beat Northampton then I fancy us to pick up 6 points from our last 5 games. If we don’t then the small light at the end of the tunnel starts to go out.

Vital and most welcome win, but I'm holding back on the celebrations because today means nothing if we don't follow it up with a win against Northampton. At least this has given a glimmer of hope, but nothing more. We owe today's victory to McCormack, and Ansi the rest of the teams hard work count for nothing, unless we can put the ball in the opposition net and keep it out of ours. The other forwards need to step up to the plate and put away the chances they are squandering and the defence needs to stop giving away early goals. Today was better, but to be fair Doncaster were not great today decisions seemed to go our way and we had more than our fair share of luck for a change. We have to take this momentum into Saturday's game which is as big as it gets for us before we can even start to think about league one survival. UTG
