Vital and most welcome win, but I'm holding back on the celebrations because today means nothing if we don't follow it up with a win against Northampton. At least this has given a glimmer of hope, but nothing more. We owe today's victory to McCormack, and Ansi the rest of the teams hard work count for nothing, unless we can put the ball in the opposition net and keep it out of ours. The other forwards need to step up to the plate and put away the chances they are squandering and the defence needs to stop giving away early goals. Today was better, but to be fair Doncaster were not great today decisions seemed to go our way and we had more than our fair share of luck for a change. We have to take this momentum into Saturday's game which is as big as it gets for us before we can even start to think about league one survival. UTG It wasn’t just down to Mc cormick and Anssi today the whole team put their necks on the line and have everything , most of us can see that our manager can see that and every player who played a part today can be proud of themselves and they’ll know it too. Also the luck thing is bullshit if we were lucky today then it’s because we made our luck. I never blame a defeat on luck and I never say we won lucky. If a player hits the post it’s not bad luck it’s just not good enough if a player slips and lets a forward through he shouldn’t have slipped. In sport any talk of Luck is a sob story..

Well done Rovers - couldnt watch the game as was round my Mum's since before Christmas. I was able to pick up the Christmas present: a Rovers tracksuit my niece gave me: 3XL and it fitted ok.
Stalled my car on a right turn going home as McPornMag scored second.

When do the post game interviews and all that usually appear? Shortly when Barton announces that he’s got to go back up north to be with his family.

What a game, watched in my son's garden with my Father-in-law a converted 83 year old from Doncaster. All I can say is "Joey Barton's blue and white army. Come on GAS we can do this.

Depends on other results i know ,but a draw at Northampton would not be the end of the world would it? can't afford to lose though.

We were reflecting on the Doncaster game in 2007 where we took a coach from Weston. Time goes so fast 14 years and lots more Gasheads in Weston.

Big shout out to Barton & his staff for seeing something in Pablo Martinez, a player most fans probably haven’t heard of & having the faith to put him in the 1st team.

Today doesn’t prove you wrong last Saturday he’s been dog sh**, and was again today IMO, he was much better today once he was moved out wide but he still needs to offer much more According to our commentators, if it wasn't for McCormick, Hanlan would easily have been Man of the Match. Mind you, the same commentators couldn't shut up about Darlington all game and thought we were lucky with an awful lot of referee decisions. Without the goals LM was still motm imo, Harries and Baldwin had big games today as well, if you compare Hanlans game to what he’s given over the past 10 games then yeah it looked a good performance, but if you compare it to what you want from your CF it was average at best, and wasn’t even near his personal best. I did like the look of him in the wider roll tho I hope he starts there next game

I'm afraid I don't agree we gave away another sloppy goal and McCormack done what no other forward looked capable of doing scoring two great goals when other forwards wasted simpler chances. Yes we were the better team today, but we have been in many games with no reward. Today we got our reward, but could you honestly see anybody else scoring today. Without Maccas goals and Ansi's late save we would be bemoaning another feckless display tonight.

You converted an 83 year old from Doncaster from them to Rovers on the day that we beat them and finished their play off hopes ? I thought Mc Cormick was a defo for man of the match but I think there’s a contender.

I agree over a season but I disagree over a game or even a few games. You can absolutely be unlucky in a single game. Man sent off incorrectly in first 10 minutes and a non-penalty awarded after 15. Football has such tight margins with 2 professional teams at a similar level, that ironically the closer the teams are matched the more luck decides things. I note this in my snooker matches. When I play dross then luck isn’t an issue, or if I am well beaten luck makes no difference. When I am playing one of several players who are about the same standard as me, fluking a snooker, or missing a pot but the rebound going in decides the frame.

Rather than talk of the individuals, I would like to add to this that the entire team looked more cohesive. The game management towards the end of the game was excellent, the free kick to the corner flag a good example, and a couple of clearances basically kicking for touch. You can’t knock it, with 2 minutes left a throw in near your goal is actually the worst thing when you’re chasing a game, you get penned in.
It most definitely shows that Joey and the team are now running sessions showing them how the professional game is played, as he said in his interviews, they only had match prep before.
Crucial not to get carried away but I said when their disallowed goal happened that this could be the turning point when finally we get things our way for a bit. I think it was a bit disingenuous by JB to say the ref got things right as I don’t think that was offside and Hanlan was off for their goal and was totally blocking their keepers view.
Overall the decision making was better - when to pass, when to hoof and when to go down for the FK.
