FWIW: Hanlan and Westbrooke played well I thought, it’s just Hanlan will probably never be that 20 goal a season player we all want. He wasn’t at Gillingham and he won’t be here. But coming off the wing he’s ok. He gets a bad time on here because we’ve got nothing else up front and he gets the blame for not being the player we need. Macca and Baldwin were brilliant today. For their goal I would have expected Upson or the player in Grants position to be picking up their players on the edge of our box not the CH. That save on the line was quite brilliant. After that performance, coming back from being behind they did at least show some character and commitment and with a goal scorer and a full pre season under JB it would likely be very different. The results couldn’t have gone better for us today with those late goals for Fleetwood and Burton. But tbh today won’t mean too much if we lose at Northampton on Saturday. That really is a 6-pointer. UTG!

Fantastic result, well fought today. Much more comfortable with Anssi back. Must win against Northampton!

It wasn’t just down to Mc cormick and Anssi today the whole team put their necks on the line and have everything , most of us can see that our manager can see that and every player who played a part today can be proud of themselves and they’ll know it too. I'm afraid I don't agree we gave away another sloppy goal and McCormack done what no other forward looked capable of doing scoring two great goals when other forwards wasted simpler chances. Yes we were the better team today, but we have been in many games with no reward. Today we got our reward, but could you honestly see anybody else scoring today. Without Maccas goals and Ansi's late save we would be bemoaning another feckless display tonight. At Charlton we went to 2-0 but the team as a whole still threw away the victory, today we won as a team, I can't recall one of the 12 players who played today having a bad game. As far as somebody saying we don't have a mid week game this week, I assume the players will be given tomorrow off so will still only have one full scale training session this week.

Well played Bristol Rovers. Excellent all round today. McCormick should be given player of the season already...head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch. Only one downside today - the appalling iplayer commentators - don't know who they are but I wish they would watch the match instead of guessing why decisions have been given. So according to you the only downside is Rovers fans rather than Radio Bristol’s couldn’t give a f**k merchants doing the commentary? Give your head a wobble and then step up to the plate if you think you can do better!

Don’t wanna put a dampener on it but we’re still going down IMO.
Nice to get a win though!

Depends on other results i know ,but a draw at Northampton would not be the end of the world would it? can't afford to lose though. Maybe not the end of the world a draw, but follow today up with a win and I’d feel very confident that we were going to stay up. Goes to show It’s not about how you start or finish a season it’s about how you end it. Just look at our promotions / relegations over the year’s and the years we’ve stayed up on a run. Someone told me the other day we were only in the relegation zone for 20 minutes the season we dropped to non league but it was the last 20 minutes. The saying goes if you’re there or there abouts at Christmas that’s where you’ll end up but certainly not if your Bristol Rovers.

Very Pleased obviously with the win, however Zain Westbrookes dead ball delivery is shocking, we get everyone forward and it is delivered nowhere near anybody, like Zain a lot but must do better.
Could not have hoped for better results, need a win Saturday and I will then start believing we can stay up, just.

Give your head a wobble and then step up to the plate if you think you can do better! I really like them I think the main bloke has a very good future ahead of him as a commentator. In his early games you could tell he wasn’t used to it and edgey and nervous but he’s really grown in to it and is already better than anyone radio Bristol has. His mate just comes across as his mate who is there with him adding the odd bit here and there and sounds like just a Gashead on the terraces but that works because you’ve got a lead commentary. So much better overall than the blokes on Radio B who are all dreadful and although I respect Brookman cos he’s Gas through and through he doesn’t add much TBH.

What a game, watched in my son's garden with my Father-in-law a converted 83 year old from Doncaster. All I can say is "Joey Barton's blue and white army. Come on GAS we can do this. You converted an 83 year old from Doncaster from them to Rovers on the day that we beat them and finished their play off hopes ? I thought Mc Cormick was a defo for man of the match but I think there’s a contender.

No my Father-in-law has been a Gashead for about 12 years and a season holder, UTG. But we have been to Doncaster to see family. UTG

Also the luck thing is bullshit if we were lucky today then it’s because we made our luck. I never blame a defeat on luck and I never say we won lucky. If a player hits the post it’s not bad luck it’s just not good enough if a player slips and lets a forward through he shouldn’t have slipped. In sport any talk of Luck is a sob story.. I agree over a season but I disagree over a game or even a few games. You can absolutely be unlucky in a single game. Man sent off incorrectly in first 10 minutes and a non-penalty awarded after 15. Football has such tight margins with 2 professional teams at a similar level, that ironically the closer the teams are matched the more luck decides things. I note this in my snooker matches. When I play dross then luck isn’t an issue, or if I am well beaten luck makes no difference. When I am playing one of several players who are about the same standard as me, fluking a snooker, or missing a pot but the rebound going in decides the frame. Are you going loopy?

I've been saying the same for weeks, I like what Westbrook can do for the team in open play when in a forward role, he's got an eye for a great pass but his dead ball delivery is very poor most of the time.

Don’t wanna put a dampener on it but we’re still going down IMO. Nice to get a win though! Impossible to call now as the bottom 6 are also poor, the fact we've lost 5 on the bounce but are joint 19th tonight really sums it up, Rochdale are looking down (again!), Swindon and Wigan back now to losing, Wimbledon hardly ever winning and hopefully Northampton's good run is coming to an end as they only now won twice in the last 6 games, meaning just anothjer 2 wins might be enough to keep us up, unless the top 6 stop picking up the 3pt points against the bottom 6 sides 19 Bristol Rovers 46 -24 43 20 AFC Wimbledon 46 -25 42 21 Wigan 46 -27 41 22 Northampton 46 -24 40 23 Swindon 46 -24 39 24 Rochdale 46 -22 38

Apart from corners, free kicks outside the box must be something to work on this week.
