If we win our tie against Bath / Gloucester we will be rewarded with ........£5000. If we win the second round........£6000. Eventually a win at Wembley will net us £50,000. Having said that the gate receipts for a Wembley final would double that so just like the Johnson Paint Trophy the final is worth it.

And have league matches shunted to Thursday nights, playing 4 games in 8 days? That would suit the smaller teams on their bog pitches down to the ground.
Play 2nd string at all times in this...

I don't think we should play a 2nd string side for the sake of it. I think Clarke should put a team out he thinks is capable of winning that particular match. First round match we could probably afford to put out a few fringe players but if we came up against somebody like Barnet/Forest Green then I would like to see the strongest team put out.

If we did get to Wembley for this final I can't see us taking anything like the numbers we did last time. I reckon 15/20,000 max

I'd be amazed if people didn't want to go. Is it Premiership fever? Are people starting to think like Newcastle, Villa etc: that winning things is unimportant? I can't get my poor little head round that. The league's even cleared the decks for cup football : no evening fixtures now.

I believe that DC will play the right team, giving all the squad opportunities can only be for the benefit of the club.I see no reason why a winning run in this competition as well can do us any harm.

I would have thought it would go into the "Conference Coffers" to pay for Jolly Jaunts for the board to see England away. Not to mention the brandy & cigars for when the board meetings have finished.

Sorry Raj, I understand where you're coming from. However......... Except maybe having to postpone our Conference games and then having to play 8 matches in 2 weeks at the end of the season to make up. That's the downside that I see. Oops, sorry already covered by Centenary Gas

With Raj on this one. Last years winners were promoted; the 2012 winners were promoted ... so going on a run in this competition does not have to equate to a poor league finish. Also financial benefits; feel good factor; chance to keep all squad players happy ... Let's do it.

We could still play a pretty good team getting players games who haven't been playing much with a mix of first teamers. Rest some of the more senior players.
I'd go something like
Mildy Leadbitter Trotman Lockyer Brown Balanta Clarke Sinclair Gos Harrison Goldberg
A team you'd expect to still do pretty well with players there that need minutes.
