Good thing you have always been fully behind Wael. Let’s face the fact that it was WAQ’s vision that started this. If people keep denying this then there really is no point debating. He was the one who decided on pretty football and bringing in a bloke who had never managed and tore up a fairly solid L1 team I’m afraid to say the buck stops with him but I know the majority will not accept this I dont disagree, but Horfield/Knowall seems to rewrite history as he goes along. One minute he has nothing good to say about the club, WAQ takes full control and pays off the debt and he says he has been supportive all along and now he is sticking the boot in again. I was just taking the water really, because some people still seem to want WAQ to fail and cant wait to kick the boot in when he does. Horfield only ever posts on threads criticising the club and more specifically WAQ.

If the club is relegated to dreaded Division2, what decent striker will want to join Rovers? Oh, there is always the non-league gamble. What a mess! In fairness most of our best players over the last 20 years have been acquired when we've been in league 2 (or lower).... Our problem is that we don't seem to be able to improve in league 1....

Perversely I think our players may do ok in L2. Slightly lower level and a lot of them will have got their first season under their belt.

Im surprised our bitter ex chairman still posts on here given that he was the one who initally signed off a £2.65m playing budget that saw us in exactly the same position in DCs last season in charge which included the likes of Kyle Bennett and Stefan Payne. He got lucky that GC worked a miracle and TW signed JCH.

Provided their attitude is good, I don't think getting rid for the sake of it is as necessary as many feel. We are hurting at the moment but we need some stability both in terms of players and management. We'll need a new spine to the team and I do expect all those out of contract to leave (except Rodman and Leahy should they wish to). Of the others, Nicholson will be sold plus one or two others allowed to leave on free or nominal fees transfers. Of the current 40 strong squad, I'd expect 25 or so to still be here come August.

I'd agree there are players who having got experience under their belts could kick on as long as they are supplemented by a few players suited to the league. League 2 is a tough physical division and we'll need to cope with that side of things before anything else. We'll need a McChrystal, Mansell type spine otherwise we'll get bullied.

Most of us have been saying this since September. It's hardly groundbreaking stuff is it? Not groundbreaking for many on here, maybe it’s a bit of a shock to those who thought Garner was doing alright! But either way it is groundbreaking for the local rag to call it exactly as it is, even saying that the powers at club deserve what they’re getting!

Frost is your typical local reporter. He will make sure that he stays onside with the CEO and the manager. He is quoting the bleedin’ obvious but clearly feels it’s safe to do so. What is apparent to me though is the easy ride that he affords Widdrington. There’s never a follow up question and sometimes TW even gets to answer his own question. One example would be TW’s claim to have bought in JCH. I’m not so sure as Coughlan had him at Southend for a while which suggests to me that there’s a few porkies being told. I will never understand why we changed our football philosophy from Coughlan’s 100% trier’s to Garnerball. Surely you keep things the same if that’s the type of players you have. I can think of only one person who could change water into wine and it most certainly wasn’t Ben Garner. I get little pleasure out of being proved so right about Garner yet why was I so certain he’d fail and other far more experienced and knowledgeable people than I, didn’t. It is what it is and I’m hoping Barton can save us from the drop. We have been in free fall from the day Coughlan walked out mainly due to some bizarre decisions at board level. We can still do it but he needs to go with players he can rely on. Ironically enough, a Coughlan type team.

However he’s the guy putting the money in and without someone doing that we are going to experience a lot worse than relegation to L2. If he can find a buyer who is going to fund the club and build us a new stadium then great I’m all for him going too, but in the absence of that the best we can hope for is that he’s going to be better in the future having learned from his ill thought through and even iller implemented grand plan to turn us into Chelsea U23s!

Never understand why people hold this Sam Frost guy up as such a bastion of gospel truth. Most of what he says is supposition and the stuff he can find out for certain (the level of debt for example by simply looking at the accounts) he gets completely wrong. His stuff is a bit lazy in my opinion. He said what we been all saying we need a striker in January. The club failed and it could put us back 5 years. Surely you want some reflection how a club tipped to do well end up in basement division. We have needed a striker since 27th August

Wael definitely deserves a huge amount of blame. There's been absolute chaos at the football club over the past few years and it's culminating in us slumping back to where we originally were when he was carried in on the shoulders of Rovers supporters and handed the keys to the family silver (or copper in our case).
Wael comes off incredibly naive at times. Like a fan. He's had the wool pulled over his eyes by the likes of those arrogant sods Widdrington and Starnes, who are basically taking a pay cheque but have produced absolutely sweet FA. Go and speak to anybody at their previous clubs if you want to get the real lowdown on these cowboys.
Yet Wael DOES have his heart in the right place, and that makes him alright by me. He's squandered £25m of his money and ended back at square one again. It's hard not to feel bad for the fella given the people he has trusted placed him in this position. I hope he's as ruthless this summer and he is with his first team managers. Then we might finally see some real change at the club.
As for Sam Frost, give me a break fella. Where was this article months ago? Why have you waited until now to post it?
