McCormick apart, the rest of the players are shameful.
McCormick, mate, top of the day to you! You tried. You ran, you ran, you ran some more.... hat's off, you have the Gas spirit and will love you forever for the heart you showed tonight.
The others: Embarrassing. If you wanted to ball watch, come and join me on the sofa with a few beers.....but don't occupy the pitch pretending to be a footballer. You're all a disgrace.

Just listened to Barton's comments pre-match saying he wouldn't have signed a single one of our players when he was at Fleetwood. "And that's not being disrespectful to the players here...." Not much Joey. Disgraceful comments and guaranteed to demotivate the team. Now THAT'S being negligent. He HAS to be sacked for that. Ridiculously stupid thing to say. How the f**k is that going to inspire them? Barton has the hump he's going down and he's taking it out on all around him. But this is OUR club Joey - you don't get to do that. Such a stupid comment, I agree. There will be about 10 or 12 still in contract for next season and if we can’t shift them they are already extremely demotivated.

I'm disgusted and embarrassed by those so called players who showed no effort tonight and I hope they enjoy their future stacking shelves in Tesco or if they train hard get to play in the national league. A disgrace to the shirt.
Up until now I've been giving the majority of our players the benefit of doubt but after that effortless sh** show I'd be happy to see all bar maybe 2 or 3 shown the door.
Not fit to wear the shirt.
What a load of Rubbish!!!!!!

he's being honest, that's what the supporters want isn't it, I wouldn't wish these players (if that's what you can call them) on any other team either There's this little thing that people in high profile roles of responsibility need, and that's called "professionalism". Honesty is fine up to a point, but too much honesty and your role will be compromised and the whole thing can fall apart. You don't have to lie either, just check yourself before you say anything dangerous. Barton simply lets words come out before he thinks about what the consequences of those words will be. He has to motivate his players, that's his job. To state to the press that he wouldn't have signed a single one of them, is basically throwing them under the bus. THAT is when honesty becomes carelessness. And that's putting it mildly. Top post. Correct. Guy is a liability.

McCormick the one shining light and if he was playing through injury tonight then I doubt we’ll see him again in a Rovers shirt.

I knew we were down after the home game with Swindon , anyway on the bright side, I really fancy a nice trip to Harrogate and Barrow👍
...and let’s make next season memorable for all the right reasons. Time to accept we were crap and now the pressure is on JB to put things right!!!

Think you need to take a step back pal. You don't like Barton as manager, we all get it. But give it a rest for a while hey. Relegation sucks but the writing was on the wall way before Joe took over. It's disappointing we didn't get a bounce or the players didn't respond, but it is what it is. They simply weren't good enough. Let's see what pre season brings and reassess after a few league games once he's got rid of the deadwood and built his own team. UTG

I suppose Wael needs to decide what fence he's on. He sacks Barton and reappoints to assimilate the old and new players. OR he backs Barton releases about 13 and loans out as many as possible for Barton to sign 10 plus newcomers. Wael needs to decide his vision very carefully.

Wasn't it something along the lines of "this is an exciting group of players, when the penny drops"?

Not sure which supporter wants that. What i dont understand is all those loving Barton 'fighting spirit' but in my world that means fighting until the very end, not giving up whilst there's still a chance however unlikely.

There was little prospect of us avoiding relegation once Wigan and Wimbledon started winning games when our only hope was always that there would be 4 teams worse than us, Barton's just telling the truth, perhaps it's something we've needed as a club for years instead of just avoiding the issues.

The problem I have is that the majority of these players will still be here next season so these sorts of comments will not help. They'll have only he here if they are happy to take a big pay cut and then be content to train with the U23's, JB doesn't give the impression he'll let them have an easy life if they decide to stay at the club.

He only needs to be honest to his employers, in a discrete meeting. Get the issues ironed out and don't cause anarchy while you're at it. To come out with it all in the press is needless and massively unprofessional, and jeopardises whatever tiny fragile confidence the squad had left. To summarise, it's bad management.

The other day I was suggesting that we offer new contracts to players like Leahy and Rodman but now I’m thinking are we better off letting all those out of contact go to allow us to bring more new players in? If we cannot shift any of those still under contract we will be limited to how many new players we can bring in and next season won’t go any better.

Well, its over. Relegated. The players in my opinion have always tried ,always put in effort and running.
You cant fault them on that score.
Bottom line is they were not collectively good enough. Bad luck tends to follow a doomed team and it stalked rovers this season. Fingers are pointed at everyone and anyone but the blame falls in 2 areas in my view. 1) didnt learn the martin dobson lesson. 2) recruited the wrong blend of players.

Unfortunately you can’t just give under contract players a pay cut. Let’s hope they at least have a relegation pay cut clause in their contracts, but knowing Rovers I doubt it!

Absolutely need to get rid of the players... they aren't good enough. Not in league 1 or in league 2. They have to go.
I'd keep very few players, but bring in experience, push the boat out and bring good players in who have performed at a level.
