I've had an email over night from trash ( I took offence to one of their claims, emailed them , they now think I'm a supporter TWATS) not posted on the uwe start to finish due to the size but here it is
Dear Supporters
It was hugely disappointing that TRASHorfield were not able to take this case to the Court of Appeal after Justice Hickinbottom ruled against us in the judicial review. Whilst still sure of the merit of this legal argument, the value of protecting our high street, homes and neighbourhood, exposure to further forbidding costs and the inherent uncertainties of the Judicial system led us to conclude sadly that we had to draw a close to this legal process.
The adverse impacts of the Sainsbury’s development are indisputable and irreversible and we remain determined to do what we can to highlight and challenge these, seeking appropriate mitigation wherever possible for the damage it will inflict.
Since the Judicial Review lots has happened: Notably, local historian and photographer, Jamie Carstairs has made an application to English Heritage to have the whole of the Memorial Ground listed, in recognition of the entire sports ground being Bristol’s largest and most important war memorial. English Heritage have rejected the application so far, but we understand a challenge to this decision is being lodged with the Secretary of State. TRASHorfield are fully behind Jamie's campaign and you can find the 38 degrees petition and further information about the Memorial Ground here:

A significant piece of good news is the recent election by a large margin in the Bishopston Ward of a second Green Councillor. Tim Malnick joins Daniella Radice to represent the interests of constituents in Bishopston including our precious high street. We are delighted that Tim has been elected with over 47% of the vote. His clear stance on the supermarket and concerns about the Gloucester Road, traffic and pollution all confirm what local people already knew: that the majority of local residents are in opposition to a goliath supermarket on the Memorial Ground, despite what a press-hungry MP would have us believe.
We also wonder what if any implications there may be for BRFC's new stadium now that they have been relegated. One thing is certain, we must ensure that the supermarket does not proceed unless the stadium is complete, this was Bristol City Council's justification for granting permission for the supermarket.
Over the forthcoming months you will see our presence as we continue to raise the final outstanding funds to settle our legal bill with a number of community focused activities and events. We will also endeavour to raise awareness of our campaign nationally and publicise the injustices of poor planning decisions taken with scant regard for the wishes of local people. We will continue to keep the Council on its toes with regards to the impacts of poor air quality and inadequate highways planning as Bristol moves towards becoming the UK's first Green Capital of Europe. An essential part of this will be to keep abreast of any amendments to the plans for the Memorial Stadium. You may be aware that Sainsbury’s have already applied for an extension to delivery hours which would have rendered this development even more anti-social and was fortunately refused by Bristol City Council. TRASHorfield will take action should Sainsbury’s attempt to further alter the terms of the Section 106 Legal Agreement as they appear to be intent on doing.
Once again, to all the thousands of you who worked with us to do our very best to stop this development we extend our continuing gratitude. This is not over yet; perhaps, just perhaps we will still see a better outcome for this special site.
