How has Mayor played at Plymouth? Weren’t we supposed to have been after him at some stage? Sheehan was also strongly linked in the past but presumably would be wanting to move up a division not move sideways? Moncur would also be of interest - was highly thought of a few years ago but hasn’t really worked for him at Luton. Would he drop to league two? Hopefully with JB being an ex Prem midfielder himself he may attract some decent midfield players who want to learn from him? Think Mayor has performed well for Plymouth, but maybe not got the goal and assists return he would have liked. If there was any chance he could ge tempted I'd welcome him here. As for the others, if you don't ask you don't get.

Mayor's an odd one assuming he is definitely out of contract as he seems to have been a virtual ever present for Plymouth this season, unless he wants to move back to the north west, perhaps JB could convince him Bristol's a lot closer to the NW.
Brentford and QPR have been linked with signing Swindon's Twine so we can forget about him.
Blackman would have been a decent signing if we'd stayed up but I can't see him dropping to L2.
As anybody heard any rumours why Jaakola, Martinez and McCormick apparently decided late on "they weren't ready to play" on Saturday?

There will be a lot of players available, trick is to get those currently here and under contract to start performing I really do believe there is enough in the squad to be ok with a new spine and some real leadership I’ve said before I don’t think we need massive overhaul Ansii NEW RB Kilgour NEW CB Leahy Grant UPSONNicholson NEW Hanlon/Walker NEW must try and shift the deadwood but can’t see many takers for the likes of Ehmer, Baldwin, Harries, Tutonda, Williams..... Not sure about Westbrook- would thrive in a winning team but will he adapt to the cloggers of Lg2 ? I’d keep Mehew, Tomlinson, Martinez, and look to add 2 new strikers to start with Ayunga and Daly to develop Hanlan I don’t see as a striker but could be coached to be a dangerous winger? A little tinkering but we must add goals and a new commanding Centre back. UTG Fixed that for you

Yes I think Upson gets targeted unfairly but he’s out of contract (?) and I believe we could get better... you could argue Martinez would be a better prospect? Or Liddle? Or Mehew?

Very viable suggestions - in the world of Championship Manager.

Some great names there ...
I was surprised to learn last night that we are apparently talking to Amadou Bakayoko again - Not sure how much to believe it although the source is top notch. Strange though as that feels like Widdringtons work and I had hoped his days were numbered at our club.
We do have a good rep though of taking average Coventry strikers and helping them on a path to Glory!! (just not the midfielders)
Oztumer would stay as well allegedly if we wanted him ....

Feel Ozzy would be tidy in L2. Depends on wages and if Barton wants him - unless his lack of game time was fitness related, it didn't seem Joey was overly keen on him?

We haven't seen anything like the best of him, but I agree in L2 he could be very decent and hopefully physically stronger after his illness.

Interesting to read in the Sam Frost Q&A that no one has a relegation release clause in their contracts only financial clauses. Really thought that some might have 'done a Lockyer' but it seems not.
I am sure its a good thing, others might argue that it might have been another way to clear out some players
Thoughts?

If some don't like it they can find other clubs. Might work in our favour in some cases.

Far better out of contract players out there.

He left us because his contract came to an end and he wanted to play at a higher level. On the other hand JOT did have such a relegation clause when we went down to the Conference.

Yep, we haven't seen the best of him but I hope we've seen the last of him in a Rovers shirt. Like so many others this season, he came with great expectations and like so many others he delivered precious little. Why would we reward such performance with a new contract?

I’m sure the vultures will swoop in to pick off the corpse of a relegated side, like they did in our last relegation from League Two. Not that we admittedly have an abundance of wealth to be stolen from us, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few clubs out there that have their eye on the likes of Leahy, Kilgour, Grant, Westbrooke etc. Certainly in the case of the latter three, they’ve been more than underwhelming this season, but there is an air of potential about them still that I could see a few bottom half L1 sides be interested in.
I think on account of age and injuries we might be lucky enough to keep Jaakkola and Nicholson, which would give us a massive head start in building a competitive league two side but we’ll have to wait and see.
I think we do have more than a few players that could play in league one, but a side that altogether definitely deserves not to be. Will be a lot of work for the manager this summer.
