Local reporter, Andrew Moon I think, saying Rovers and Cheltenham have also registered an interest. Can we compete with the giants of Cheltenham? Not when they can offer him L1 football w/o the Barton side show. I don't understand where JB gets that it would have cost us £500K to turn down Wycombe's £150K(?) offer for Hanlan, as surely he can't be earning £350K a season

Harrison and Norwood . Would be the two to go for Was told today that Norwood is on 10k a week and in no hurry to leave. That figure was mentioned by Paul Cook(?) when he took over

Local reporter, Andrew Moon I think, saying Rovers and Cheltenham have also registered an interest. Yes, Andy Moon works for BBC South Sport; and also does our commentaries on BBC Radio Solent. He tends not to get involved in the idle speculation that some of our local print media have to engage in.
We seem keen to get Ellis off the books. He's likely fourth choice up front and is taking up a sizeable wage for someone in that position; hence my comment yesterday that I don't think there would be any expectation of a fee on our side. I don't even think it's beyond the realms of possibility that we could end up paying up a small proportion of his final year to enable him to strike a deal elsewhere.
Complete speculation on my part but I could see why a club in the south-west, whether that's you or Cheltenham, might be more of a draw for him than some of the others being linked.
Everything else aside, I'd like Ellis to get a decent move that suits him to somewhere he gets a run of games and is appreciated where he goes. He's not had a great run down here, but I think a lot of that has been down to happenchance.

Ah, okay - I'll stop touting him then. Fingers crossed you get someone in who can do a job.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Hylton coming in before the window shuts.

I’d like to see us make a Eoin Doyle type signing. Now, I know it probably wouldn’t be Eoin Doyle himself but someone who has regularly scored goals in League Two before, rather than an ‘up and coming striker’ like Hanlan. I’ve noticed that Andy Cook has done well out on loan at Bradford and has scored a fair few in L2 before. Perhaps worth making a move for if we could convince him to come down south? He was on loan to Bradford last season, but only just made it permanent this season with a 2 year deal. The lad Kashket at Wycombe usually does well against us and is down the pecking order there, he might be worth a loan.
