It's cup final day folks! anybody interested? What a day that used to be , wall to wall football from morning till night, (the only day it was)'the road to Wembley'. meet the teams, leaving the hotel. Wembley arrival and all the rest. Great shame to see how far the old lady has fallen down the pecking order, lots of reasons but they all end up at the same door 'Money!'. am i excited about it ? not really, will prob tune in as not much else on, have been impressed with Chelsea under new man, they handle Man City very well then fall flat v Arsenal. Hope Leicester win, could do with new name on the cup, remember watching there finals in the 1960's , unlucky v Spurs, beaten in a great game by Man U, and by Man City later. Enjoy watching Brendon's teams but needs to win something as getting a reputation for being entertaining but trophy less.

Well done halifax. Was thinking exactly the same, what a difference from 30 years ago when, to me, the Cup Final was the match. I’ll miss Cup Final It’s a Knockout, talking to the players in their hotel, but that’s the way it’s gone. I remember all those cup finals from the 60s onwards but can’t remember anything really about the recent ones, I can’t remember anything to rival some of those matches. To overcome some of the problems I wish they’d consider giving the cup winners entry into the Champions League, attitude towards it might change but that won’t happen. Come on Leicester! UTG!

Used to be unmissable back in the day. Now it’s a bit Meh. What I would like to see is a return of the European Cup Winners Cup. Mind you I’d also like to see a polar bear fight a tiger. Anyhoo I’m hoping for a Leicester win, as a nod to our own training ground foxes.

I’ll be watching it with a couple of stellas no doubt. 3 - 1 Chelsea, I have a much better chance of that today rather than Bristol Rovers0! The gas have cost me a f**king fortune this year 😂.

To be honest that's how I feel about all of football today apart from the championship ( to a degree ) and below as it's not money driven. I'm 39 and back in the day I used to not only love watching the gas but all football, and would watch everything. The start of the Premiership was great in the mid 90's and I couldn't wait to watch match of the day on Saturday nights, the one Super Sunday and Monday night football. Always used to watch the European cup,cup winners cup and UEFA cup games as well, all had meaning back then. Now everything is souless. Cups mean nothing, a club would rather finish 4th or avoid getting relegated from the premier than win the FA Cup... I can't remember when I watched the whole of a football match on TV apart from the gas.All seems pointless, over produced, over tactical and boring to me.We may have the best TV product in the world but that doesn't mean that it has soul, it's just a brand. Today 20 years ago was one of the biggest days of the year in the UK even for non football fans and I would have been glued to BBC for it's full day coverage. Now it's all for the money and overseas TV deals. Its a total clusterfuck. All I care about is the Gas and the European and World Cups, those I can still watch.

Since my Dad died I've taken over his FA Cup final ritual, which was to cut the grass that afternoon. He didn't like Football!

I was thinking it will be the first weekend watching football without Rovers competing. Then I thought who am I trying to kid? Practically every weekend has been spent watching football where Rovers weren’t competitive!

Practically every weekend has been spent watching football where Rovers weren’t competitive! It's like having a weight taking off my shoulders not having to endure another awful performance from the Gas. However I can't wait for next season to start. As for today I haven't watched the cup final for years. Like most posters I used to make a day of out but since money has ruined it it's been not for me. I shall watch today simply because I want Leicester to turn over one of the Big Six

My son was born in Leicester and though he is also interested in the Gas, he has adopted the Foxes as his team even though we moved away (glad he doesn’t support his local club Leeds, regardless of how much I admire Bielsa and the current team). I’d say we’re hopeful rather than confident. Leicester have the tools to hurt teams but also have been very hit or miss recently. Chelsea clearly a quality side. Should be a good game!

My two both born in Leicester but managed to get them supporting the Gas (probably won’t last). Something a bit more special about watching the game in city where the local club is involved. Think it will be close and fancy Leicester have a decent chance.
