Unproven at senior level, but his stats at U23 level are very impressive. If he can bring that form into L2 then we've got an excellent signing on our hands.

Sounds like great potential, hopefully he can have an impact like Macca did. Also, we have plenty of depth in attacking mid (more shortly) so wont have to run him into the ground. Early announcement surely means another (Thomas?) today too

Old gits and loanees. The exact template that got the likes of Yeovil and Orient into the Championship ... and when all the old gits had retired and the loanees gone back to their parent clubs, crashing out of the league.

You can't compare players like that. Every case is different. Hopefully we get the one that has performed at youth level.

I see Spence wears the No10 shirt! Thought everyone agreed that was Hanlan's correct position? So who will be the false No9? More importantly who will wear the correct No9?

Million dollar question the shirt allocations innit - we have a lot of players that could play in the positions the shirt number would normally demand. We also have players with the numbers that don't quite make sense (Liddle number 7 for example). Be interesting if much is placed on a number this season. I am a great believer in the numbers 1-11 being the number one player in that role get the shirt. These days though, players love a particular number (Barrett 39 for example) For me on the number 10...Collins wears a 10 and is permanent and seems to have the ability to knit the attaching phases together which also having an eye for goal, so reckon he will get the 10. UTG

Surprised he's been given the No 10 shirt as I assumed he was just joining us as a squad player, assuming Hanlan's not leaving then I can't see him losing the No 9 shirt as that seems to rarely happen once a player's got a 1 to 11 squad number.

You are not wrong ... there was some awful boardroom nonsense and squabbling as well and poor leadership on and off the field - Bigboyitis - Mr Higgs had it in spades!! LJG I have always valued your input on here ... what has Joey Barton got to do for you to change your opinion of him or even warm to him a little?

I'm not, I'm just open to the fact that although he's done very well at youth level, he didn't do well on loan, you've got to take both into account so feel indifferent at the moment before seeing him.

Dont care if it gets us promotion. Yeovil were punching above their weight in the Champ (like we would be) but I think we would be better equipped financially to deal with it
