Regrettably it transpires someone I considered a friend falls in to category 1. Only difference is it appears to have started since Covid and is (currently) limited to Covid. I.e. he doesn't have any doubts about 9/11, princess Diana, the world being round etc. We're actually no longer friends as a result of it. No regrets either. You’re actually no longer friends with someone because of their views ? Yes. Absolutely. Not sure why that's surprising? The foundations of almost all friendships are built on things such as similar interests, values, ethics, morals etc. It became clear we shared almost none of them. To add some context, he had bought in to Bill Gates controlling people and 5G microchips in them.... so we're not talking little disagreements here. He was adamant he was right. There's no way that friendship could continue!!

Got to agree with Okebourne, for some it's not quite as simple as that. Whatever their reasons for their decision, it their decision. I doubt Oke's decision isn't on your list. Thanks mate , no I’m most certainly not on that list. I think you're mad for not having the vaccine, but the choice is yours. 🙂

My amygdala will not let me do that thank you

And in the meantime - assuming Rovers say that mask wearing is voluntary i.e. follow Government rules - who would refuse to attend? It seems to me that following Wembley and Wimbledon, people simply refuse to wear face coverings - most of those at Wimbledon that I saw on TV wearing them were of oriental origin where this is common practice regardless of pandemics.
I would watch Rovers home games with or without mask rulings and accept there is a slight risk I could catch Covid. I have taken the precaution of having lateral flow test kits delivered and intend to take a test the day before each match and have been double vaccinated. If a test proved positive I would simply not go to the game the following day.

Dumping a friend over that? Bit weird. Not when you have family etc working in the NHS. Not saying that is the case for RoverDrive but it is for me and why I feel so passionate about it. I have loved ones working in the NHS, and in schools as well. I booked my vaccination in immediately after getting the SMS, as I consider it my civic duty. However I respect those who choose not to have the vaccine (particularly if concerned over the long term unproven side effects), even if I feel that they may be letting the side down a little by not doing it. To drop friendships over this feels a bit extreme though? Unless it’s the straw which breaks a camels back so to speak?

As mentioned, we're not talking best friends/best man material here. We're talking a friend just beyond the level of an acquaintance.

Worth popping this note here:
I read something the other day that said "just because I disagree with you, it doesn't mean I hate you". Really hit home.
Some of you may not want the vaccine and, whilst I 100% disagree with that decision (exceptional circumstances aside, as posted in example by okebournegas above) it's ultimately my viewpoint - nothing more, nothing less.
Ultimately it's a very emotive subject I guess. Please don't let any of my views come across as a personal attack - I appreciate that's a difficult thing to ask and understand why it may be impossible to see it that way - but believe me, there is no personal malice intended.
Unless of course you believe Bill Gates is going to control you with 5G microchips, in which case, any offence is fully intended.

Maybe. but most countries did adhere to COVID protocol well. Whereas over here the slightest bit of sunshine everyone filled the parks and beaches without any masks or social distancing. Then moaned when another lockdown hit... And then 70,000 turned up twice at Wembley. I'm ready for my Thursday night clap for the NHS. I'm ready for my Thursday night clap for the NHS. Quicker to pop down to your local STD clinic - surely

You could simply ask me directly if you’re genuinely interested in my families vaccination history , but I’d find it rather strange I must admit
