Jaakkola 5: at fault for opener, should never of come for that cross.
Hoole 7: great league debut for the young man Hughes 6: harsh decision against him for penalty. Anderton 8 MOTM Harries 7: great goal. Wasteful in possession
Grant 6: some crucial blocks. Coutts 5: very harsh red card, but experience should know better than to react.
Anderson 5: quiet game and should of done better with great chance first half. Thomas 6: threatened a couple of times. Not brought into game enough. Clarke 5: quiet until injury forced him off.
Saunders 6: worked hard, given no service and isolated.
Subs: Westbrooke 5: not in the game. Not his usual composure on the ball. Taylor NOLE Baldwin NOLE
Ref 3: nothing needs to be said Mansfield 6: dangerous looking attack and should be up there at end of season

Jaakkola 4 at fault with 1st goal.
Hoole 7 m o m debut. Hughes 4 at fault with the 2nd. Anderton 7 m o m debut. Harries 6.5 wonder strike!
Grant 4.5 mis placed easy passes. Coutts 3 poor as didn't set example and his sending off was catalyst to our defeat.
Anderson 5 not enough link play. Thomas 6 tried to get his foot on the ball and dribble. Clarke 4.5 offered nothing.
Saunders 5 worked hard, ran around a lot, in the end poor service and was easily muscled out of the match....where have we heard this before?
Subs: Westbrooke 4 awful. No challenges and got himself booked totally unnecessarily by falling over and claiming foul (dive) and hand balling it in the process.....the ref was so poor, he could have done us a favour and issued 2 yellows for 1 artistic move (as this is Olympic season) but was so inept. Taylor 3 anonymous. Baldwin nole.
Ref 3 missed so much that made his decision making inconsistent. Mansfield 6 strong organised side (really like their #6, nothing got past or over him all day, mopped up everything) with wily sneaky approach, so they'll be top 7.....we let ourselves down by our poor decision making at critical times and allowing poor officials to make poor decisions.
This is where we are. Welcome to 4th division, where you get 4th rate teams, 4th rate entertainment and 4th rate officials.....we can't complain it's where some of us thought we'd end up last season as warning signs were there very early on.... don't shoot the messenger, it's gonna get worse before better. No one can complain!

Really enjoyed the day-out of Dodge; impressed with Hoole. Mansfield chanting directed at Joey "O dear". Appeared like it was the biggest match the referee and the joke lines persons had ever officiated. Johnson should have gone for the elbow into Coutts chest, Coutts did go for retaliation. If that's a penalty then there should be one ever time a defence defends a ball delivered from a set piece.
Thought we were sluggish and played on the back-foot throughout the first half, much better in the second half after Harries worldly of an equaliser.
Impressed with Joey pre, during and post match; I think we will be okay once we get out missing players, plus a couple of additions, into the starting line up. Utg

Results in and Nick Anderton was Man of the Match with a score of 7.92
This was Jaakkola's lowest ever rating. His previous lowest was on his debut against Blackpool in the opening game of the 2019/20 season.
However, Jaakkola remains the only player in these threads to have played more than thirty games and never dropped below a 4. He still has a way to go to beat the longest run without a 4, which was 97 games by Tony Craig before he scored a 3.8 away to Coventry in the FA Cup. (Jaakkola is on 50 games)
The referee rating of 2.0 was lower than any last season and the lowest since Wycombe away in 2019/20.
The starting XI average was 5.73.
Jaakkola 4.3
Hoole 7.4 Hughes 6.2 Anderton 7.9 Harries 6.9
Grant 5.0 Coutts 4.2
Anderson 5.3 Thomas 6.0 Clarke 4.9
Saunders 5.0
Subs: Westbrooke 4.1 Taylor 3.0 Baldwin 6.0
Ref 2.0 Mansfield 5.8
