Before the game, knowing we are playing last seasons league two title winners, and with Pittman, Finlay, Collins, Nicholson, Coutts, Hanlan, Rodman out.. did you really expect us to get anything tonight? That’s basically a top 6 of our creative players.

BG got a lot of stick for an unbalanced squad, but 2 games in and we are playing Kilgour as a right back. Wish we'd suspended JB so we could just get behind Clint Hill and the team, but I have nothing to say positively about Barton Hoole was rested and Rodman not fit, with a squad limited to 21 players there's only so many FB's you can have in the squad, the bigger concern is the lack of a decent CF. or any kind of CF! Meanwhile Ayunga is helping Morecambe to a famous victory at Blackburn.

1 shot on target, 1 corner and we conceded 2 goals again. Still we won possession!.. I didn't expect the win tonight, but I expected a bit of of a closer game. Joey will be blaming officials again and on the phone yet again to that guy at the EFL he rings every week to complain about the ref.

Back to ten more games even though we've just played two. It's 2020 all over again! It's all part of an annual event Groundhog Day.

Yes it's terrible, that much is beyond dispute but I'm prepared to wait and see what might be achieved over the next 9 or 10 games. A degree of realistic optimism is maintained on my part. Back to ten more games even though we've just played two. It's 2020 all over again! I think tonights result will fade into irrelevance if we can get a result Saturday.... However, if we don't win Saturday this result will stick like aphids on a sticky stick..

City and swindle both out🙂 who would have thought all those years ago Cheltenham. And fgr would beat both Bristol clubs in the 1st round. Bet it's even more of a meltdown o the darkside

It's all part of an annual event Groundhog Day. My memory is not what it was but think the last game I attended before covid was a similar match that Gas won 3-0. I know it wasn't a league match as tickets were only a tenner?

However, if we don't win Saturday this result will stick like aphids on a sticky stick.. As is the usual script we will draw on Saturday and lose the next game. In the last 20 years I think we've taken more than a point from the first three games about twice. At least that's how it seems.

Although I don't think Barton is the right man for this club, I'm not going to be getting too depressed about this result with an experimental team in a now-meaningless competition.
I'm sure the meltdown will arrive sooner rather than later, but not this evening.

They'd better come flying out of the blocks on Saturday. No shots after 25 minutes and any dreams JB had of getting Bristol rocking will be long forgotten.

init! This forum is full of huge cocks Do you genuinely believe the forum is full of cocks because they are questioning the form of the team and managers decisions? I don’t think we have ever had a manager who polarises views so much as JB. If you disagree are questioning form/results etc you are a cock or a hater. I don’t remember any other manager getting such support with the run of results and performances we have had. On the other hand there are some who simply hate JB and would do even if we were winning. I think our performances and form are/is sh**e. Nothin against JB personally but I suppose I willl have to accept it makes me a cock or a hater…..👍 In my eyes I’m neither by the way!! its towards the ones, who are calling for him to be sacked! We have 1 striker fit, probably about 6/7 regulars missing? Let’s judge when we have a full squad. As another poster pointed out, we’ve played a team that’s one of the favourite of our league, and another that won our division last year! I think some need a little perspective.👍🏽

I'm sure the meltdown will arrive sooner rather than later, but not this evening. I was in support of his appointment but you can't avoid the fact that he has been an utter failure in every respect so far. I doubt even the most ardent Barton haters would have expected him to be so bad from a football perspective, but at least he didn't disappoint them off the pitch.

Not really bothered at all by this evening. Loads still missing, irrelevant cup game and more minutes in the bag for the boys.
Onwards to Saturday where the squad is stronger and the full force of the Mem is with us!

That’s basically a top 6 of our creative players. Spot on. Since when has anyone care about this competition? Rovers certainly haven't. In my life, I can remember us getting through the first round occasionally, 2nd round rarely and never the 3rd. Let's face it, this was our reserve side at best. The only thing that annoys me about the club at the moment is that we allowed so many attacking players to get injured in training leaving us no threat on the pitch to start the season. Barton has obviously seen this and at least set up an extra game today to give some of those injured players a chance of being match fit for Saturday. We do have enough attacking threat in the squad, but we must get them back as soon as possible.

With all the other sh@t going on, losing the first two games is never going to help.... The season is still well retrievable both on and off the pitch.... Let's hope so.... Worry is though it’s unlikely Collins or Pitman will be back for Saturday. So that means no goal threat yet again. - we will make a truly awful team look great again and fortress Mem becomes as tough a place to come as Tinky Winkys playground.? Stevenage are not an awful team I am afraid. Great run at the back end of last season and they’ve retained nearly all those players. Great result against a champ team tonight
