its towards the ones, who are calling for him to be sacked! We have 1 striker fit, probably about 6/7 regulars missing? Let’s judge when we have a full squad. As another poster pointed out, we’ve played a team that’s one of the favourite of our league, and another that won our division last year! I think some need a little perspective.👍🏽 There are two types on here, those that see Joey Basham for the person he is and are ashamed and embarrassed he is the manager of our club and those that are seduced by his celebrity. Putting that aside, his record is very poor and amongst the poorest of any Rovers manager in history. Yes I know there are mitigating circumstances and I believe he was given the benefit of the doubt by most for last season (including me). But he has been in complete control of the club since the final whistle went v Blackpool. This is now his squad and he is responsible for it. From what I see pre season was no better than the pre season he described as negligent. Making excuses for him now is just blind faith. I agree if we had a fully fit squad and able to field our best eleven we may get better results but I doubt with the squad we have we will be able to put out our best eleven more than a dozen times this season and that will not be enough. He will be gone in either November or December anyway when he gets convicted of one or both crimes. When do you think it will be appropriate to start a poll on our next manager? I rate every manager on his points to games and so far JB has a very poor record. He needs points ASAP I feel he’s built a decent squad for this level but it does feel like it’s his personality and his problems are holding us back in numerous ways. If he can’t get some wins under his belt and get us around mid table by the time we’re heading in to November then get rid. Every manager deserves a transfer window and a run of games , Barton is getting that now , it’s time to put up , get up , show up or get sacked. One bad appointment after another hasn’t put Wael in a very good light and it seems to be getting worse. Ive got a ticket for Saturday , I’m away with my family from tomorrow in the Gower and was planning on driving back for the game but I’m in two minds whether to bother , that’s not like me - first home game of the season and I don’t know if I can be f**ked with it .

Agree with the second part of your post but re the first part there is more than two types. I’m in the third camp , no idea if he’s guilty of what he’s been charged with ( but wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest) but willing to let the judicial system do it stuff. As for his celebrity, I couldn’t give a flying . Just want a manager that wins games and is successful. Then you must be in the Barton Out camp as his win percentage right now is embarrassing.

Sean, I'm surprised you're taking such a binary view with regard to Gasheads on here. I for one do not fit into either of your extreme classifications and I suspect many others take a more balanced and middle view of our management situation.

Looked like a team of strangers tonight for the majority. Saunders and Anderson for me are only ones who come out with some level of positive. Anderton didn't have a forward pass in him. We had a back four of all Cb.... Good luck with no support wingers.... Liddle also so negative with his passing and moving. The lack of pace and apparently ability to get the ball down and carry it forward was shocking. Players looked scared to dribble with the ball, most looked more rushed to get rid of it straight away. If that was a chance for some of the rotation players to stake a claim for a place, certainly didn't look like it. Good to see an opinion from someone else at the game. And I completely agree with all of this. I'd add that we also lacked a leader out there. Someone to get us going and quicken the tempo. Was all a bit flat and one-paced.

Feared the worse when I saw our starting lineup, but I did expect a little bit of fight. But at least tonight it showed that it’s possible to build a decent side on a smallish budget as I thought Cheltenham who finished up as league 2 champions last season were excellent . Let’s hope Saturday we can get a few players back to bolster the ranks as we definitely in need of a morale boosting victory.

Agreed there are probably many types but that does not help make my point. Some I know are just "meh" about the whole situation and given up caring

I know what you're saying, I'm not quite "meh" just yet but sometimes it's a struggle. Keep you're pecker up mate, we live in hope that there's something better around the corner!

On a lighter note, classic rovers! 😂 perfectly summed up ! Perfectly sums up most stadia that are seating supporters for the first time this summer I would have thought. There’s plenty to use as a weapon to beat our club with the way it’s been these last couple of years but no doubt spiders have made nests in all of the stadia around the country with no human habitants ?

I didn't go tonight, but haven't we just fielded what would be a B team? There were quite a few changes made and still need Nicholson, Pitman and few others back from injury. I am quite happy Joey uses cup games to experiment and rest players, it is the league 2 games that matter. Cheltenham made 7 changes from Saturday and played us off the park.

180 minutes played 3 shots on target If it wasn't for Saturdays wondergoal (which is the type of goal we only see once every few years on average) then I dread to think how long this run of not scoring would have gone on for. We do have a guy up front who has recently spent a couple of spells on loan in the national league and didn't score. Our current options up front are even worse than last season! People say we had a very poor pre season given everything that has gone on, but surely we were not the only team affected by this? I think its more hope than expectation that things will turn around once the injured players return.
