My view is this.. yes sometimes run high and debate gets fierce, why? Because in the main (apart from the odd WUM) we care about the gas and want things to go for us just for once. There is nothing wrong with good honest debate as long as it is kept respectful, nobody's opinion is wrong!
Whilst I don't know the mods or have been involved in the forum as long as a lot of others, from what I've seen, I believe they have been fair and reasonable. I don't know what is involved in being a mod, but tbh I think it's a bit of a poisoned chalice sometimes as your damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Overall I still think this forum is a fantastic platform and was something which was even more important during lockdown to keep us entertained (thanks in the main to BJ's culinary delights).
I guess all I'm trying to say is yes we won't all agree, yes we may argue and yes we want the best for the blue and white. But given what's gone on the last 18 months or so, let's just be nice...

Thanks for posting that! And liked by two of the mod team. That's good enough for me, I'm off to delete my account. I’ll balance it out by saying I’ve enjoyed reading many of your posts over the years and it would be a shame to see you leave it really would. If you want to leave that’s up to you, but I’d urge you to reconsider as your presence is wanted on this forum. This is why I don’t like threads like these as it just pits posters against each other, when really we have more in common than we think. I remember when JB joined Rovers. There was a fair few people who voiced their concerns at his appointment and were treated pretty badly. They were being called a shithead among other stuff. You may remember it Axegas as you were a victim of it too. Some of those who were getting grief ended up deleting their accounts and their abusers found it funny. No one seemed bothered back then about those leaving. Those of us who stuck around still get grief today when we continue to raise our concerns regarding JB. But some of us take that hassle in our stride, like Roverdrive for example, who gives as good as he gets and rightly so regardless if he is a mod. As a result of that, the usual suspects (always those in the JB fan club) are now throwing their toys out of their prams, still being aggressive bullies towards him and now trying to divide the mod team to turn against him and making threats of quitting. It's all just childish. |

Had a look through (briefly I'll admit, there's a lot of pages), but no sign so far of where I've stayed anything as fact? I said "IF" on page 1,called him a thug which with his list of past convictions is certainly not libelous. It seems if you have a difference of opinion from the pro Barton brigade they'll try and bully you in to submission. Won't work unfortunately. No, you're the f*cking bully who's abusing his position as a moderator. The clue is in the title 'moderate'. Unfortunately you are far too opinionated to act as a moderator and, perhaps without realising it, are a major contributor to the demise of this forum. I would respectfully ask that you consider resigning your position and leave moderation to the calmer minds of others in your team. As someone myself who also has a difference of opinion to the pro JB brigade, I can only agree fully to Roverdrive's comment above regarding attempts of being bullied into submission as that is how it feels to me. I'm sure this comment of mine will be disliked by some of them! So I can only strongly disagree with you telling Roverdrive that he is the "f*cking bully". He is just refusing to stand down to those who treat him like sh** on a daily basis. Why can't people respectfully debate without the name calling etc. So what if people have a difference of opinion. Roverdrive is 1st of all a gashead. 2nd a member of this forum and has the right to express his opinion like anyone else. And then 3rd he is a moderator. A moderator who has been accused of things (like banning or editing threads which proves to be untrue) because he is disliked for expressing his opinion and won't back down for it. So no, Roverdrive is not abusing his position. In the past, that probably would unite us all indeed to go against you, but those days are gone. So much division at Rovers right now, I doubt we'll ever see gasheads all on the same page again. It's probably gone too far to be fixed. Club is rotten top to bottom. That's the honest truth but I am sure this post will be attacked for some reason, which will prove my point!

A quick scan over his posts shows: Over the last 5 days he has posted, admittedly by my definitions: 9 posts which are critical of JB (fair enough) but 14 posts which are potentially slanderous towards JB, worryingly 19 posts which are aggressive/unpleasant towards other posters! 14 posts which are aggressive/unpleasant towards the club 8 other posts which are neutral or relate to football For example, forum members have been referred to as filth and not having any balls. Joey B is a vile human and total and utter scum. Whether you or I agree on the above or not, this is not befitting of a moderator. |

I could just as easily say you see just what you want to see but no point in getting in a penis measuring competition. We are at opposing ends of this (the argument not the penis of course) so I doubt we will agree. All I can say is that I have received similar crap as Roverdrive because of my feelings towards JB. So I know how it feels to be him receiving unpleasant remarks. Of course I do not get as much flack as him though. But I bet if I was a mod, I would be attacked just as much as him and react just as much as him.
As regards to the number of Roverdrives posts towards different situations, I say fair enough to those posts. It is a forum where people can express their opinions. Not sure what you expect to be honest. It is befitting of a gashead who is extremely concerned about the identity of their club becoming unrecognisable and it is befitting of a member to express such opinions on a forum regardless of being a mod or not and it is befitting of someone who stands up to his attackers over his opinion.
I think he himself has said recently he probably has stepped over the mark on occasion. But I don't blame him for doing so. He sticks up for himself when he gets attacked for having a difference of opinion. He stands his ground and some people don't like it because they think as he is a mod that he should be a quiet little boy. They know they won't succeed over him so the only way they feel they can is go for his role as mod to bully him into quitting or bully the mods to remove him. |

TT always seemed to post fairminded posts and i believe was a very valueable and calming member of the forum.
I hope that after a break perhaps a return follows. The forum goes on but a lesser place without TT in my opinion.
