Fair enough. I usually see the light side of most things but I genuinely fear the forum is in danger of disintegrating, mainly due to some very polarising topics and views being expressed too strongly with a lack of respect for fellow gasheads but also some inconsistent moderating. I know you guys put a lot of time in to this on top of your day jobs and it’s largely appreciated but I think there needs to be a better appreciation of how moderators actions and behaviours are perceived. Cheers, I just thought a bit of humour might lighten the mood, I must go and find a better joke book, or I might just start messaging on here as a 🤖 Don't try the humour route SG, I tried that and somebody had a whoosh moment regarding a comment over a 70's porn star. There is no hope. |

FFS losing Tilly and others is not good. We should all take look at ourselves and think about how we make this a more inclusive place for all. (not just mods). I hope she and others come back. I’m certainly not wanting this place to become a 40+ blokes only echo chamber 😔

Folks, can I ask we all take a breath. let’s take th heat out of this for a night. Posters an for that matter moderators please jes take a step back an think “can I do this better” We all have opinions, but sometimes we all jes say it a bit wrong, or react when there’s maybe nae need, it’s certainly a bit of both at present. Gasheads one an all, without wishing ta quote Lennon/McCartney- ‘we can work it out’ 👍 I dont know you Big Jock, as I am a relatively new poster, but Long Long Time Gashead. You are yet again the voice of reason, Thank you. My network of very close mates are roughly split 50/50 Gas and City (going back 40 plus years I'd like to add), and of course you can image the banter between us. Speaking to one of those mates last night they were very complementary to us Gasheads on there own Forum for our reaction setting up the Gasheads Against Domestic Violence funding page as a result of all of this press we are getting. (Granted usual banter about the club, which of course I returned). This just made me think, that if our biggest rivals are prepared to stand with us on there own forum not only about this particular situation but as football fans of a football club, makes it even more sad that we appear to be taking some of our debates to far. I haven't looked at there forum, cant bring myself to do so. But it does make me wonder if there are some that take an interest and what a laugh they must be having at our expense. |

I think when he states that JB battered his wife then that is probably over stepping the mark? Coming from a mod, along with other members seeing posts being pulled up for less is it any wonder the moderating is called into question? Comes across as Do as we say not do as we do. This whole subject is very polarising and a lot of strong views are held. I think every single poster will agree is that if JB is found guilty of domestic violence then he should be sacked. Before that there is division, some think he should be sacked or suspended immediately and others think he should continue until the verdict is known. The club have made their decision and look unlikely to change their minds - that probably needs to now be respected now and we all get on with supporting our team. I think everyone has made their views clear and prolonging it among ourselves is going to cause more disharmony and resentment. Had a look through (briefly I'll admit, there's a lot of pages), but no sign so far of where I've stayed anything as fact? I said "IF" on page 1,called him a thug which with his list of past convictions is certainly not libelous. It seems if you have a difference of opinion from the pro Barton brigade they'll try and bully you in to submission. Won't work unfortunately. No, you're the f*cking bully who's abusing his position as a moderator. The clue is in the title 'moderate'. Unfortunately you are far too opinionated to act as a moderator and, perhaps without realising it, are a major contributor to the demise of this forum. I would respectfully ask that you consider resigning your position and leave moderation to the calmer minds of others in your team. |

Mmm this is very sad news, i always enjoyed Till's post's regardless of whether i agreed or not, which in the main i did, i believe that many members are, like myself, at this very moment thinking seriously about deleting due to the toxic nature of the forum, i hope it's a wake up call for all members and that we can get back to friendly healthy debate about the fortunes of our club and leave the divisive issues to other platforms , up the Rovers!

Tilly has deleted her account. Jeez, that's terrible. I don't know her personally but she always posts as a sensible, well liked and balanced poster. If she's quit because of the obsessive vitriolic posting of one mod in particular then it's high time he's reigned in and chucked out! Too many occasions of overstepping the mark from his position of responsibility in my opinion. Maybe she just fed up all the sh** on here, it used to be a decent place. I think the real issue is when a mod posts as a poster and not a mod. That's the rule - poster first, mod second. But it's an uneasy relationship, and the main reason I stepped down from being a mod after just a few months. I never felt comfortable being able to say what I wanted but being able (potentially) to censor other views. It's a difficult role and I don't think many would enjoy it. The pay is terrible and the groupies are Henbury and Bolders. |

Unnecessary. Age/sex/Race/Religion shouldn't even be up for discussion. This is a Bristol Rovers fan forum. The one thing that binds us is that commonality. What next ban anyone going to watch a game ove the age of 40? Your comment is ridiculous and divisive and only adds to the current bad feeling that seems to be bubbling up here. Personally, I just feel tensions are running high, JB Trial, The teams not looking great, covids effect on being able to see a game. Its just a crap patch any of us that care about the club is going through... Really? Not even worth a reply. Yes a Very strange over reaction to quite an innocuous comment about our aging fan base???
