Belshaw 9 m.o.m. a superb display, its good to have 3 keepers of such high quality. Kilgour 7,5 he's gradually recovering from the nightmare of last season Taylor 8.5 dominant in the air and confident with the ball, a great prospect Harries 7.5 solid,he adds a good balance. Anderson 7 worked hard, not everything went right but he kept going. Grant 7 did the ugly stuff well. Finley 7 covered every blade of grass, its so good to see players put in a shift. Saunders 7.5 did well in an unfamiliar role Evans 7 a good assist, faded later on but should prove a good aquisition Nicholson 6.5 a quiet game, subbed soon after a knock. Collins 6 he didnt see much of the ball as most of the first half we just lumped it long and high he will show his quality when playing off the main strikers. Subs: Clarke 7.5 at last a striker who knows where the goal is. Coutts 6.5 ok he was the fresh legs when they were needed Anderton 7 a couple of good blocks, steadied the ship. Ref 6 ok Crawley 7 a decent side, a bit unlucky to go home with nothing. good to see the evergreen TC still looking good.

Belshaw 8 the most confident performance as understudy I think I can remember. Excellent matches he's been involved in so far, needs to improve distribution but for me I would keep him as our number1.
Kilgour 6.5 ball watching a lot, some nice diagonal passes. Fell awkwardly but it didn't appear to phase him? Taylor 8.5 m o m this is Stuart's namesake and a brilliant display of central defence duties. Won everything in air, dominant and tackled back. Well done, Stoke bloke! Harries 6.5 got caught ball watching and was slow in reacting second half.
Anderson 7 always running. Grant 5 I must be missing something, I thought he was too deep, poor pass....? Finley 6 one beautiful pass first half. Faded. Saunders 5 I like him but didn't think he contributed.
Evans 5 apart from the cross for the goal, I don't know what he done? Nicholson 5 anonymous.
Collins 5 not his match, rightly subbed.
Subs: Clarke 7.5 looking like the big menace we've been yearning for. Took his debut goal well, hopefully more to come! Coutts 4 still no where near convinced. That's the third time I've seen him come in and we've looked poorer. Anderton 5 strange he replaced Nicholson but don't know what he done?
Ref 3 inconsistent. Crawley 5 if they marked Leon and took one of their chances, we'd be all thinking differently! They were poor finishing, more organised in mid than us, but we should be winning these sorts of games more comfortably.
I take on board 1-0 wins comments by JAB, but Crawley done enough to feel aggrieved they didn't get anything from the game, and a lot of that is because JAB was too defensive.....6 in our own half on counter attacks!?

Belshaw 8: I’m liking the look of him more and more after every game. Commands his box and just appears as a calming influence to the defence in front of him. Made some vital stops today.
Kilgour 7: looking more like the kilgour of two seasons ago. followed up tuesdays good performance with another one today. Won most of his duals and a couple of cracking diagonal cross field balsa. Taylor 8 MOTM Harries 7: looking more confident as the games go by. Looks more settled on the left of a back three and I feel there is a player in there if we can stick with him.
Anderson 6: worked hard in the first half but faded slightly in the second. Offered drive and determination going forward but end product wasn’t there. Defensively Let to many balls into our box, needs to work on defensive part of his game. Grant 7: another solid display. Starting to form a good partnership in the middle with Finley. Got through a lot of work today and broke up many of Crawley attacks. Technically sound on the ball but misplaced quite a few passes. Finley 7.5: not as dynamic as he has been and should of done better with chance late in the game to kill it off. But he ran his socks off and some of his switching of play was fantastic. Great bit of skill to turn away from his man and vision to then pick out a lovely lofted ball onto the chest of Nicholson in the first half. For me shows all the qualities to be our captain. Saunders 8: work rate, desire, hunger all evident today. Played in a unfamiliar role but I thought he was fantastic. Doesn’t stop running and a moment in the second half where he sprinted back the full length of the pitch to make a last ditch tackle summed up his afternoon. Played in some lovely crosses first half but unfortunately no one there to get in the end of them. I was surprised over the last two games of his ability in the air also.
Evans 7: a good debut. Some glimpses of a lovely touch and skill and a great cross for Clarke’s goal. Tired as to be expected as the game went on but I was very encouraged as to what he will add to the team. Nicholson 6: quiet afternoon for Nicholson but we struggled to get him into the game first half. Picked up a heavy knock and hopefully it’s nothing serious as his return to fitness has coincided with our upturn in results.
Collins 5: another who had a quiet afternoon and really should of done better with headed chance. I don’t think he is a number 9 and this shows with his lack of getting across the 6 yard box when the ball is out wide.
Subs: Clarke 7: first touch first goal. Age is not on his side when it comes to pace but what he does have is the experience and know how to get himself into the right place at the right time and have the ability to find the net when the ball arrives. Some clever hold up play to and made a big difference having a proper number 9 on the pitch. Coutts 6: better than his sub appearance against Barrow last week. Showed some nice touches and kept the ball simple. Anderton 6: didn’t put a foot wrong after coming on as a mate sub with the pressure starting to build on the team.
Ref 8: by far the best ref so far this season, let the game flow and didn’t stop the game due needless things.
Crawley 5: not as good as some have said. Shaky at the back and lack a cutting edge up top. Very familiar story to last seasons BRFC

Belshaw 7 string of fine saves
Kilgour 6 best performance from him in ages - must have been because Millwall Tone was on the pitch! Taylor 7 very solid Harries 6 Hughes not on the pitch or on the bench, was he dropped or injured?
Anderson 5 Grant 6 think he will have a decent season going by recent performences Finley 6 Saunders 5
Evans 5 Nicholson 5
Collins 4
Subs: Clarke 4 Great goal - we thank you! but that was it Coutts 3 Nearly got himself sent off with a late challenge that went unpunished Anderton 4
Overall the game was dire to watch but pleasing to grab the 3 points. Only player that looked likely to score in the first half was Nichols - thank goodness he reverted to type or today could have been awkward

Belshaw 9 Did everything asked of him.
Kilgour 7 Great effort as always. Can get edgy in distribution Taylor 8 Good defensively - should have scored. Harries 7 solid game
Anderson 6 Grant 7 - like the way he breaks up play - can be the Declan Rice of League 2! Finley 6 - improved in the second half Saunders 6
Evans 8 - excellent cross for the goal Nicholson 7 - played well before that horrendous tackle took him off
Collins 4 - didnt seem to contribute anything and his header when given an opportunity was awful
Subs: Clarke 7 - good goal scored - look rusty apart from that. Coutts 6 - didn't get sent off so improvement on last time I saw him play Anderton - 6

Belshaw 8 - a number of critical saves. Distribution should of been better.
Kilgour 5.5 - better performance from Alfie. Distribution poor and nervous but a few good long passes. Taylor 7 - best of the back three. Good prospect. Should of scored in the second half. Harries 5.5 - not a bad game but distribution poor a lot of the time. Looked a bit lost when moved to left back.
Anderson 5.5 - lots of effort and some good moments but can do a lot better. Grant 5 - covered a lot of ground but the midfield were not effective. Often not available for a decisive pass from the back three. Finley 5.5 - some good moments but overall as captain did not influence the game enough Saunders 5.5 - good at times but unsurprisingly defensive work suspect at times
Evans 6 - a good debut. Hopefully will be even better after getting a few games under his belt. Nicholson 5 - system did not suit him. Hope that the injury is not too bad as we need his quality
Collins 4 - ineffective but a lot due to the fault of the system played. No lack of effort.
Subs: Clarke 6 - good much needed goal. A couple of other good touches but quiet for the rest of the second half. Coutts 3.5 - should of been the experienced head needed when he came on but the midfield sat too deep. Anderton 6 - good solid performance
Ref 8
Crawley 5 - an average team that we made look good. We gave a relegation performance but got the luck which seems to have deserted us since GC left. Good levels of effort and concentration though and when you have that you make your own luck.
