Has achieved far more than Barton, Tisdale and Garner put together as Managers. Agree, past it though and a strange chip on his shoulder regards the ownership. Shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the vacant managers position next time around other than in an advisory DOF style position or as a temporary caretaker. I’m at the point where I think anyone would be better than the idiot Barton. How he has been allowed to bring in his mates with no desire and has the nerve to mention Fleetwood after every defeat is beyond me. Let’s go find another hungry non league manager like DC, not some pompous over paid ex prem failure.

Forest Green, absolutely flying 👏. The way we’re going we will be toiling with Stockport, Wrexham and Notts County, while teams like Sutton, Forest Green and Fleetwood couldn’t fill a minibus for an away game down the road.

Gary Johnson. Been doing a great Job with Torquay since taking over when they were in the conference south gained promotion first time of asking and last season finishing 2nd in confernence.
Couldn't give a f**k about his city connections just about who can make sure we stay in the league football.
But then again would he even leave Torquay for us...
More of a gamble but do rate him highly is Jerry Gill at Bath, he always got them playing neat tidy football and always been impressed with his tactical decisions/awareness always felt like he deserves a chance at something bigger and better.

3 pages in only one person has posted a serious reply. All want him gone, when Barton’s replaced with a manager that’s either too old or too inexperienced then the negativity starts again… Time for people to put their money where their mouth is. For me Adkins if he would come So instead let's come up with a ridiculously unrealistic option that everyone would be happy with but it not going to come here.. Why is Adkins going to leave Charlton to come here? He wont be there much longer anyway. It will be interesting to see who gets sacked first, him or Barton.

I cannot see how any manager in the entire football league would leave their current position to come to manage us? A chance of earning more money yes but after the success of the last three managers the chances of them either ruining their careers, are having a major setback are far greater.

Bring Mansell back, him with Hargreaves will get this lot playing basic attacking football.

Excellent cv RD, but yes, as I mentioned Challinor definitely not him then 😉 trollololol Really impressed with the job James Rowe has been doing at Chesterfield with a 61.4% win percentage. Whether he would join us with Chesterfield doing so well is another matter. He was Assistant Manager at Aldershot Town with Gary Waddock when they achieved two successive play-off positions in 16/17 and 17/18. As manager of Gloucester City they began the 2020-21 National League North season with four consecutive league wins, equalling their best league start in 78 years, and eight wins through nine matches. Left with a 41.7% win percentage. Joined Chesterfield In November 2020 when they were in 21st place and was later awarded with the league's Manager of the Month award for March 2021, as his side won six out of seven games, conceding zero goals in those wins. Rowe eventually led the club to a sixth place finish in his inaugural season, advancing to the promotion playoffs with a 58.3% win percentage for that season. Former Plymouth Argyle player and Mansfield Town legend George Foster is his assistant and rates Rowe highly. Foster has managed himself and worked as a scout for over 20 years. “The gaffer knows what he wants and with the right backing he could go all the way.” Foster said. “He is probably one of the best coaches I have worked with and I have worked with England coaches and some first-class coaches. "He is an exceptional coach, he knows how he wants his teams to play and he can put that on in training sessions."

I couldn't understand peoples dislike of Graham Coghlan (spells) he was our best manager for years and we were doing the best in the league for years and I did not see much wrong with our style of play as we were winning games.

Weaver of Harrogate doing a phenomenal job too. And Rowe also a good shout. These are the names we need to be after. WHEN Barton goes we need to pay compo.

The football was shocking to watch and would it have continued to work without getting lucky again with his replacement once JCH was sold? The fact he flopped so hopelessly at Mansfield and then reverted back to being a coach, perhaps confirms that he feels he's not cut out to be a manager.

Or that being a coach at a prem team (champ now) closer to home was preferable to managing some tinpot outfit a couple of hundred miles away?

Somersetgas, Exprem failure- I hardly think so. At least get your facts right. How is that not right? He's ex-prem. Fact. He's failing at managing us (and in any case that's always subjective). I mean it is subjective, but if you don't think one relegation and bottom three of the league below is failing then I don't really get where you're coming from.

Hopefully the thought of getting a decent pay increase will be attractive, plus we're so bad most other clubs will probably ignore the blip on their CV's when managing us anyway!
