Belshaw 7.5 - two crucial saves

Kilgour 7.5 - looked solid and some better passing
Taylor 6.5 - looked reasonably solid
Harries 4.5 - a little unlucky with the second yellow. Could of had a sterner warning first. However so many yellows this season is stupid and costly.

Anderson 5 - the more defensive role does not suit him
Whelan 7.5 - tired a bit in the second half but controlled the midfield well
Evans 7 - sublime at times but also a little careless. Faded in the second half a bit.
Nicholson 6 - showed glimpses of his magic but still getting back in the groove

Thomas 6.5 - at times showed his championship class but a lot more to come

Pitman 7 - good goal and worked very hard especially at the end
Collins 6 - great energy and skill but as a striker needs to score

Subs: Coutts 3 - didn't really contribute
Clarke 3 - stupid to get sent off

Belshaw 8 ..2 brilliant saves. Just kick the ball out in future instead of fart assing around kicking ball across our own pen area.

Kilgour 8 excellent getting forward.
Taylor 8.5 m o m nothing beat him.
Harries 2 let the team down with putting himself in position to be sent off.....up until then his blocking and defence work was great.

Anderson 7 good in small bursts.
Whelan 8 almost m o m best game so far.
Evans 8 involved with most attacking moves, another great assist.
Nicholson 7.5 nice blend with Thomas. Holy trinity of creativity with Evans and Thommo.

Thomas 8 excellent running. The match turned when he went off.

Pitman 7.5 took his chance well and unlucky not to get hat trick
Collins 8 ran his a$$ off....more composure would have seen him open his Gas account.

Subs: Coutts 4 it just seems when he appears, our negative side is more prevalent. Poor sub.

Ref 6 got most decisions correct, it's a shame players put themselves in position to be booked
Colchester 4.5 there for the taking but could have sneaked it at the end....a mirror of us previous match v Bradford.


JAB can blame officials but his subs affected the game and last 10 mins we were clinging on. Why change at all?

Such a shame as we played some scintillating stuff in flashes and I'm loving the trinity of Thoms/Evans/Nicholson for creativity. Whelan backing up the mid makes it a formidable line up ...just please don't feel the need to play Coutts because I honestly haven't seen much of why his contributions are to be included?
