My thoughts from watching on Ifollow -

Belshaw 6.5 off his line well but stood no chance for the goal

Grant 5.5 slow in possession no good going forward tonight
Taylor 6.5 beaten in the air led direct to a goal
Harries 7.5 probably our best player
Anderton 7 good first half quiet second half

Coutts 6.5 more involved but some poor passing late on
Whelan 6.5 played some nice tidy football
Finley 7 faded in the second half

Evans 7 creative but didn’t quite come off tonight. Unlucky not to score after an unreal run.
Nicholson 6.5 took his goal nicely
Collins 6.5 deserved a goal first half

Subs: Pitman 6.5 unlucky to have it ruled out
Thomas 4 had to score. Had to at least hit the target

Ref 10 never seen a ref give us so much!!!
Salford 2 one of the worst teams in the league

Belshaw 6 - kicking continues to be poor

Grant 5 - lots of possession but did not do much with it
Taylor 7 - in control for most of the game
Harries 7 - in control for most of the game
Anderton 5 - especially in second half very poor on the ball. Missed two good chances from corners

Coutts 7 - good match and helped control midfield
Whelan 6 - effective without being spectacular
Finley 7.5 - very effective especially in first half

Evans 5 - looked tired (not surprising after recent efforts). Had one good run but set pieces not as good as usual
Nicholson 5.5 - took his goal well but with his ability should do better against League Two teams
Collins 5.5 - a few good moments but needs to score goals

Subs: Pitman 6 - gave the side more balance. Unlucky with the offide goal
Thomas 5.5 - looked promising but a poor miss when through on goal

Salford 4 - I know some say that they would have taken a draw at the start of the game but we should have been able to recruit good enough players to win a lot more games than we are against League Two teams

Grant 7.5 not rwb but done ok.
Taylor 8.5 m o m had fella in his pocket
Harries 6 got beaten for their goal.
Anderton 7.5 ok.

Coutts 7.5 nice contribution.
Whelan 7.5 as above.
Finley 8 excellent through ball for the goal.

Evans 8.5 class and brilliant dribbling.
Nicholson 8 took his goal well, great finishing, ran them ragged.
Collins 8 great movement, need to be more effective.

Subs: Pitman 8 never offside!
Thomas 7 should have scored but enigmatic in his running.

Ref 7.5 was expecting another mare from notorious ref, but he appeared to get most things spot on. Haven't seen replays of sending off yet...(?)
Salford 4 disappointed with them as they're pre season favourites.


Well done JAB for creating a dominant performance to be proud of ... But yet again we just can't put the game to bed!?

Belshaw 7 - largely untroubled all night

Grant 5 - looked very uncomfortable at RB
Taylor 6.5 - had a tough night against Asante
Harries 6 - decent but makes me nervous!
Anderton 5.5 - OK but crossing poor & missed two very good headed chances

Coutts 7 - improving all the time
Whelan 7 - him and Coutts dominated the midfield battle
Finley 7.5 - class assist & should have had another one for Thomas

Evans 6 - quiet by his usual standards bar one phenomenal run
Nicholson 6 - took his goal well but still miles off his top form
Collins - 6 - worked the keeper a couple of times

Subs: Pitman 8 - did what asked to when brought on, scored, but howler by lino
Thomas 5 - missed the chance to kill the game
