that was the lowest crowd i have seen in the league for a long time on covid it was a joke out of 10 off us 3 got checked just to make you boys a little happy for xmas, the football im watching at the mo is awful some of the worst i have seen in my years which goes back to terry cooper. Thank god there be some sh**e sides in the bottom half of the championship.the only saving grace for me is are academy boys coming through. Just saw your username pal, it couldn't be could it?.. If you're little Lee Johnson then they dropped a massive bollock getting rid of you.. In all seriousness we don't have too many City fans on here so welcome..

come on now and again hopefully with respect to yourselves as i for one know how quick football can change, i starting following the red side in the fourth div under sir terry cooper so been there at the lowest point and still waiting for for the highest point of prem football. Mind you dont think it will ever happen as the gap from the championship to the prem is getting bigger and bigger.

I said on another thread, I think if we played each other in the cup, I think we would win in my opinion, I watched the Huddersfield game and there was only one team in it, I don't know if they were really good or City were really poor.

I’m a football fan, and Gashead. All of my mates are split Gas and City. One thing we all agree on, is that Bristol desperately need a Premier League team.

Get out they would absolutely destroy us. Stupid talk. They’re losing to ex prem teams and we’re losing to league 2 teams with 10 men, can’t beat teams with 9 men and deservedly are where we are in the table - 18 points behind Forest Green who have a game in hand and below the other 3 teams relegated with us.

Does anyone remember at Twerton some of the ridiculously low crowd figures announced during the game to chants of ‘does the taxman know we’re here’ (or something along those lines)? Geoff doing everything to protect our finances! Certainly do, became a standing joke on the terraces. Reminds me of going to Greece back in the day , when the tills at the bars would go off due to a power cut or a similar excuse so they could trade without it going through the books 😂

Attachment DeletedAt Colyton FC Sat the club linesman who was also the sub goalie was so far behind play he didn't know if the visitors from near Exeter had scored but it did look over the line to everyone else. On MOTD ,Alan Shearer and Co were lamenting the poor standard of refereeing in the Prem.Seems be it Devon and Exeter league division 16 or the Prem we also moan about similar things. Thanks for your contribution,lj.Been a Gashead since the 50's and despite the gulf between us in terms of facilities etc ,wouldn't change it for anything.

Not so sure if we met them on an off day and we played them on a good day with no suspensions or injuries, we might give them a good game. At least the gap might be closing.

Yet weirdly it is you that is dreaming If you saw the game you would see where I am coming from, if we played like we did against Oxford and they played like they did against Huddersfield I think we would win, I'm not saying we are better of course I'm not, they have millions of pounds worth of players and we dont but we would give them a bloody good game

I sort of get this argument and I’ve often said myself that I’d prefer Rovers in the championship than the prem league ….. but….. is that the height of our ambition as a club to just make it into the championship? It’s been stated by the CEO , The manager etc . So , *if* and when we get there we already know we wouldn’t bother to challenge and we’d be happy just to be there ?! Hmm 🤔

Hmm 🤔 With the few notable exceptions, there seems to be a glass ceiling between top Championship and the rest, probably due to the money gained in the Prem added to the parachute payments. Personally I'd prefer to be a top L1/mid-lower Championship team rather than an established mid table team with nothing really to play for. Not that I get a say in the matter. The infrastructure is key either way, but the relegation battles and promotion seasons is what makes football competitive and exciting.

Hmm 🤔 That's the paradox of being a football fan, and it pretty much resembles life in general. 1. Set a target 2. Achieve said target (hopefully) 3. Set a new target 4. Achieve new target (hopefully) And so on and so on. There will eventually come a time in every football fan's life when your team hits it's zenith, and the only way forward is straight on, or backwards. Even if we were to get to the Prem, how long would it take before the novelty wears off? I seem to remember warehamgas saying a lot of Bournemouth fans when they were in the Prem were getting annoyed when they started stagnating and eventually regressing, without realising that what they'd experienced in the last few years is basically as good as it will ever get for a club like theirs.
