They are welcome to him in my opinion. Saw nothing from him in those 6 games to say he was anywhere near good enough for what we need. Taylor and Alfie have been head and shoulders above him.

You could say that aboutut Collins, Anderton,Jason Roberts etc etc. A player moves away from his family, post covid, apparently had an injury, can't mix and team bond as players would usually do and he is given a few games to prove himself? Let's wait until he is fit first. He has a decent lower league career so there must be some quality.

Is Hughes likely to travel even further away from his family?

Is Hughes likely to travel even further away from his family? I assume he's already suggested he would or the story wouldn't have reached the press? If it gets an injured player off the wage bill it's got to be a good move.

Is Hughes likely to travel even further away from his family? For a two year contract he probably would.

Can only assume he’s got to be a far better player than the one we saw earlier in the season, when he barely looked National League standard.
To be fair he wasn’t the only new signing who started the season very poorly. Difference is the others have had chance to play themselves into form as the team have slowly improved as a unit, where as Hughes has just been injured the whole time.

"Hughes joined Joey Barton’s side last summer on a free transfer and dropped down from League One outfit Accrington Stanley to move to the Memorial Ground.
He has since provided some useful competition and back-up to their defensive department."
No he hasn't he been injured all season!

Haven't seen enough of him this season to judge him but when the players took the knee before kick offs he didn't seem able to to it and I don't think it was because he didn't agree with it 🤐

You have to wonder how "injured" he's been if a L1 side are prepared to offer him a contract in January. I wouldn't be surprised if Jaakola doesn't join another club next month as well.

Don’t forget Hughes whilst he’s been injured has been acting as a defensive coach in that time.
Letting him go might have consequences beyond how many players we have available in the backroom.

I like Jaakkola but he hasn't been involved all season so would be a good move for our budget.

Yes moving on jaks, Hughes and maybe Westbrooke off the wage bill in jan would make a massive difference, we could then bring in a quality striker and another central defender. Strengthen the spine.

If we're being ruthless I would add Pitman to the list but understand keeping him over the aforementioned.
