Belshaw 8.5 m o m can't think of anything he done wrong and kept us in match.
Kilgour 6.5 ok. Taylor 8 almost m o m had immense game. Harries 7 took one for team but so could easily have been red carded and given own away. Ref saw different.
Anderson 5 didn't get forward enough to play to his advantages. Coutts 6 done simple things but I thought was chasing the game too much. Evans 5 apart from sublime amazing free kick, his set pieces were poor and he was not creative enough. Nicholson 6 worked hard but not much paid off. Grant 5 poor on both wings.
Collins 6 apart from his brilliant strike, I didn't see much. Loft 5 interesting debut as he had his chance to run in on goal....and chose the wrong option in his end product.
Subs: Anderton nole. Whelan nole. Pitman nole.
Ref 5 gave us some leeway, gave them some too. Imo got things wrong in our favour, more. Hartlepool 7 nice team play. Organised at the back, slick in counter.... should count themselves unlucky to lose, mightily unlucky to lose by more than one goal.
I was there at the home game and they beat us on the right side of a fair result draw ... We made the mistake, they capitalised especially on a bouyant upbeat crowd ... The reverse was true today ... Apart from the crowd bit.
Well done JAB abd management team for no sub and no tangible change until last 10 mins, and holding faith with 2 players capable of brilliant strikes.

Belshaw 8 Unbelievable stop and did well in some keeper-sweeper situations
Kilgour 5 - understandably rusty. Looked knackered Taylor 7 - very good. So calm under pressure Harries 6 - was ok. Awful challenge on their number 2
Anderson 4 - poor. Coutts 6 - steady but seemed to slow play down. Evans 6.5 - was always looking for a pass and space. Set pieces were poor apart from the last one ofcourse
Nicholson 6.5.- tried and tried and looked dangerous Grant 4 - looked spent from the start.
Collins 7 - looked dangerous when he had the ball. Loft 3 - didn't like what I saw
Subs: Anderton
Whelan
Pitman

Belshaw Top performance motm 9
Kilgour hardly reassuring 5 Taylor held the back 3 together..just 7 Harries too easily beaten and needed some fire in his belly 5
Anderson not good defensively and not much better going forward 5 Coutts thought he did ok today 7 Evans good work tate and great goal but not everything came off 7.5 Nicholson good second half with ball at his feet created goal and battled hard, underwhelming in first half 7 Grant lacked energy 6 Collins confidence up always looked like our most likely scorer, loads of running and took the game to them 8 Loft on your debut when the goal opens up shoooooooot. He didn't! Mobile and won a couple in the air not the best nor worst start 6
Subs: Anderton nole Whelan nole Pitman nole

Belshaw 9.5 immaculate both in his box and when sweeping out
Kilgour 6 grew into the game Taylor 7 composed, should’ve hit the target in first 5 mins Harries 5 many a mistake in him. On another day could’ve been sent off and conceded a pen.
Anderson 5 poor in both directions Coutts 5.5 did seem overrun in the middle Evans 6.5 a few moments of quality. Some slightly off deliveries Nicholson 6 huffed and puffed Grant 5 see Anderson
Collins 7.5 our only attacking player with any real cutting edge today Loft 4 well I really hope there is more to come
Subs: Anderton Whelan Pitman
Ref 6 some strange decisions Hartlepool 6 not sure how they didn’t win

Belshaw 9 M.o.M. another superb performance from our no.1, what a great signing he has become. Kilgour 6 I was surprised to see his name on the team sheet. understandably short of match practice. Taylor 8 won just about everything in the air and generally held the defence together to earn a unusual clean sheet. Harries 6.5 another ring rusty player who could count himself quite fortunate to stay on the pitch. Anderson 6.5 battled manfully but is much more effective further forward. Coutts 6.5 an ok game but slows the play down at times. Evans 7.5 another wonder strike, always at the heart of our engine room, a couple of poor set pieces prevented a higher mark. Nicholson 7 flitted in and out, generally ok Grant 6 understandably below his best,as Kilgour and Harries were Collins 8.5 fast skillfull dragging 'Pools defence all over the place and full of running Loft 6.5 some things good, some things not so good but helped to set up the first goal quite agile for a big bloke, work in progress. Subs: Anderton nole Whelan nole Pitman nole Ref 7 decent Hartlepool 7.5 a well organised side deserved a share of the spoils just as we did up there.

Belshaw 9 - superb saves, inspirational and more confident on the ball than our defenders
Kilgour 5 - looked slow and uncomfortable on the ball. Taylor 6 - not as dominant as usual and missed a great chance to score in the first half Harries 5.5 - looks like he will get sent off every game but looked ok at times
Anderson 5 - a massive weak link defensively. Positioning very poor. Coutts 5 - off the pace and overrun at times (possibly because our formation gave them lots of space to run into) Evans 6.5 - apart from his goal his performance lacked quality but put in a real shift covering virtually every inch of the pitch Nicholson 5 - I think that Sammy is a great player but only showed glimpses of this true ability Grant 5 - poor but did improve a bit when switched to the right side (before he got injured before Xmas it was the opposite)
Collins 7 - not at his best but great goal and showed great pace including when he won the penalty Loft 5 - not a great debut but sufferred due to the whole team being below par. Expected him to win more in the air for a man of his size
Subs: Anderton nole Whelan nole Pitman nole
Ref 7.5 Hartlepool 8 - Very impressive. With a bit more luck and a good striker they would have won by four goals which would have been a fairer result than them losing two nil
