Belshaw 7 stood tall for everything he had to do, which was very little
Hoole 3 silly but he will learn from it Connolly 8 nothing beat him Taylor 8 likewise Anderton 6.5 shaky first 45 solid second
Grant 6.5 adapted well to a position change Coutts 6.5 not tidy or pretty but did what was needed
Nicholson 5 tracked back a lot but offered little going forward Evans 6 big spells of the game passed him by Thomas 8.5 motm the effort and endeavour was a joy to watch. He started so many counter attacks by nicking possession when he had no right to
Collins 7.5 got that all important goal yet again
Subs:Anderson 5 Saunders 6 Whelan 6
Ref 2 they made 22 fouls, we made 8. Yet we got the red card. What a Wally Walsall 2 water poor against 10 men for 55 minutes. Never threatened

Belshaw - Goog game with a crucial save in the last minute 7
Hoole- What can you say, plain stupid, hopefully a few good games hasn't gone to his head. 4 Connolly Good battling game, he has good positional sense and reads game well needs a few more games to bed in but coming on well 7 Taylor 89 mins great and then almost threw the win away at the end but rescued by a good save from Belshaw. 7 Anderton not completely convincing at fullback with too many mistakes in him but tries hard and grafts away 6
Grant moved to full back didn't diminish another hard working display although not as adventourous going forward as in previous games. 7 Coutts plays the enforcer role well and has wonme over by his committment 7
Nicholson not his day 6 Evans nor his 6 Thomas but his, oozed class but best of all worked back so well , stealing countless balls from wallsall 8 motm
Collins not much came off today but worked his socks off, a couple of nice turns and right place right time for the goal 7.5
Subs:Anderson needs to do more to win back a starting place 6 Saunders set the goal up but not really on long enough to judge 7 Whelan cool head and help set up the goal. 7
Ref Did hoole say much for the first yellow didnt seem too. But in fairness dished out plent to wallsall including a yellow for simulatioin. Picky but not the worse we have seen this season 6 Walsall very poor and uninspiring 4

Belshaw 7.5 not much to do but when called on was his usual competent self.
Hoole 4 rash immature mistake that could have cost the team. I like him, needs to learn quickly. Connolly 8 excellent. Taylor 8.5 unbeatable. Anderton 7.5 done well.
Grant 7 covered loads of ground. Coutts 7 kept up with his support of defence and mid.
Nicholson 7 decent movement. Evans 7 again some of his set pieces not on the money. Thomas 8.5 almost m o m and rightly given standing ovation. A constant threat in final third.
Collins 7 just has that striker never give up instinct.
Subs:Anderson 7 I liked his inclusion. Saunders 7.5 set up the winner by his persistence. Whelan nole.
Ref 8 maybe a surprise for some, but I thought he made his decisions correctly as in he had the right to issue cards by what he saw. He didn't buy some of the play acting by Walsall, thoroughly refreshing. Walsall 5 below par, a draw was probably the fairer result, but we edged a close encounter with 10 men because we have momentum one way - and they have momentum in another.
JAB made the right subs at the right time and it paid off, well done him....but I've yet to see us dominate a team at home in league for long time, but as long as we're carving out positive results, that's all that matters.

Belshaw 7.5 a couple of good saves but overall a quiet afternoon Hoole 5 he must have said something pretty foul as the ref certainly was still smarting when an innocuous foul gave him the chance for revenge. Connolly 8 excellent, he shows maturity beyond his years Taylor 8.5 the usual commanding game Anderton 8 he got his head on everything, the improvement since the early games has been massive. Grant 8.5 his versatility is the bedrock of the team Coutts 8 a good ugly game, he's not afraid to put his foot in. Nicholson 7 not at his best Evans 7 as Nicholson Thomas 9 M.o.M. the best player on the park,a kick up the ass from Joey has done the trick. Collins 7.5 worked hard and got his reward to win the game. Subs:Anderson 6 not his best cameo, he gave the ball away cheaply on occasions. Saunders 7 his persistence set up the winning goal, Whelan n.o.l.e Ref 6 card happy but at least didnt buy Walsall's cheating simulation tactics. Walsall 4 poor cheats, its a good job for them Oldham and Scunthorpe are worse

Belshaw 7 - one crucial save late on. Hope that his injury is not too bad.
Hoole 4 - the first yellow was stupid. When will players learn to keep their mouths shut. Thought the second was a little harsh Connolly 8 - solid display. On this form is a far better partner to Taylor than Kilgour or Harries Taylor 8.5 - masterful display Anderton 5.5 - was involved a lot, especially first half, but the lack of quality on the ball hampered Rovers progress. Very determined though.
Grant 7 - showed class both in midfield and full back Coutts 6.5 - not one of his better games but showed lots of fight and led the team well
Nicholson 5.5 - looked out of sorts Evans 6 - lacking his usual quality but put in a good shift Thomas 9 - his best display to date. Besides being a goal threat he won the ball many times by good closing down
Collins 6 - thought that his touch let him down a lot but deserves credit for the goal
Subs:Anderson 4.5 - love Harry but was an error ridden cameo Saunders nole Whelan nole
Ref 3 Walsall 3.5

Belshaw 7 did what he had to do
Hoole 4 daft. Connolly 6.5 solid Taylor 7.5 immense Anderton 6 did enough
Grant 7 mr. versatility Coutts 7 led the team well
Nicholson 6 not at his best but worked hard Evans 6 worked hard Thomas 8mom a touch of class
Collins 6 worked hard but could have held the ball a bit better
Subs: Anderson 6 Saunders nole but helped set up the goal Whelan but helped set up the goal
Ref 3 let them get away with too much Walsall 4 poor
