In fairness it could be that Anssi’s injured and we need Ward as cover on the bench.

IF Belshaw’s injured it’s his ability to play as a sweeper keeper we’ll miss the most IMO.
In terms of shot stopping you’d have to say Anssi’s a very good replacement, but he’s much more of an old-school stay on his line keeper than Belshaw.
Reckon we’d have to play a deeper defence with no Belshaw - IF he’s out!

I hope it’s not something to do with his knee, as he could be out for a while if true.

Anssi is an excellent shot stopper but like you say it will force our defence to drop deeper or we might get caught behind a few times before we realise we have to do that.

If Belshaw is out then it is a great opportunity for Anssi to try and get his place back. Not many teams will be blessed with having a keeper as good as big AJ as their #2 We just have to hope he isn't too rusty after his long lay off and the injury is totally cleared up. Of course; Ward being recalled might be a precaution and Belly might still be in contention for all we know.. and we can't rule out JB playing mind-games with the oppo either (Swindon Submarine's tweet implied Jed was only cover for an illness to their #1 and he is back now - so might well have been on the bench himself anyway if he had stayed)

We can play high and press with only 4 (2 at times) at the back because the defence know they can rely on our super sweeper keeper. Hope we adjust to this quickly if he is out.

Did anyone else notice Belly stand up from lying on the ground in a sort of weird/clever breakdancing move about 10 mins before he went down injured? It was great, but pretty sure that's how he injured himself

It happened right infront of me - he was seeing the ball out and then planted his foot in the ground whilst trying to slow himself down and I believe he may have buggered his knee.

Yeah he definitely looked like he was in a fair bit of pain

Maybe Anssi will begin to play "keeper sweeper" too.
He's an excellent GK.
Great to have the 2 of them, with Jed also being highly rated.
Fingers crossed for James.

Shame about the injury. We're lucky to have 2 number 1's in the squad imo.
I have enjoyed watching Belshaw so far this season.

If it's a serious injury I think JB would get an emergency loan in.

Ligament damage I’d guess ( Belshaw)

Great news that Belshaw only likely to miss 1/2 matches.
