It’s all about how we react Saturday. Mansfield won again and will make us pay if we play anywhere near that bad. Hopefully we see a reaction and maybe some players returning. Grant and Taylor most importantly If those two plus Evans and Balshaw, who acts as a fifth defender, are all missing then I doubt we can react. JB certainly doesn't have much luck when it comes to injuries/illness. Loft must have missed more games than Dom Blizzard when he first joined us!!

I am starting a crowdfunder to pay for an arsonist to burn Rich's bus, every time it gets mentioned things go pear shaped. It's a bigger curse than winning manager of the month!

One of those nightmare days that can happen. Taylor is a massive loss just before kick off and then Evans early on. We obviously should still have done better but Oldham had their tails up and didn’t give us much space all evening. They deserve some credit as well as just focussing on our deficiencies. I thought Connolly looked the best of our back four tonight and if we get Taylor back alongside him on Saturday we’ll look a lot better. It’s very poor that our best 2 defenders are loan signings from the youth teams from divisions above.

Must admit, I had this as a win before kick off. We've got a good record against those below us and a poor record against those above us in the table. So I had this as a win then take whatever we can get on Saturday and next Tuesday. Coming home empty handed tonight puts much more pressure on the next two games.
I thought there would be a lot more energy tonight considering Oldham is close to home for a lot of our lads!

Must be watching a different game than me. Harries and Connoly hung out to dry by the likes of Hoole, Anderton and Co. No he was poor tonight and I'm not saying he was the only one, but stood out from the others in my opinion.

Wouldn’t give one outfield player more than 3 out of 10, Jak maybe 5 Harries really needs to hang his boots up, without doubt one of the worst defensive performances I have ever witnessed in professional football, Hoole and Coouts not far behind , Sad to think we rely on a 19 year old loanie for us to look anything but a shambles at the back,

Well that was poor. It looked as if the team thought it would be as easy as some on here thought yesterday! They didn’t look prepared to be hassled against a team fighting for their league place. Backwards and sideways all night. Coutts under pressure all night, never had an easy out. I’ve always supported Harries but tonight he was poor, wasn’t switched on for their opening goal and let the pass go by him. Connolly was ok and Anderson looked good but in the end he was going backwards as well but he was responsible for 2 of our best moves and he looked good. No Loft, no Clark so why was Pitman sent out on loan? We had no option to change things and in those last 10 minutes the ball was going into the box begging for a Pitman-style poacher. At least with him we may have got a point. But tbh, our defence looked too vulnerable all evening and will need to improve if we are going to move up the table. But... Fair play to Oldham, they had worked us out. Pressed us, attacked the right hand side and we were under pressure all night. Didn’t give us any time and then waste as much time as possible to break up any momentum we got. They packed the defence once they had something to hold on to. They could have got 2/3 more goals if not for Anssi. Not one of JBs best nights, was tactically out-thought by Sheridan who set Oldham up perfectly to deal with us. We move on to Saturday.
UTG!

Very poor performance tonight, but Oldham deserved the points. Like some posters said earlier, very frustrating we can't keep a settled side due to injurys all the time.
Fair play to the fans that travelled, safe journey back 👏

I don't think Pitman would have made any difference Wareham. Oldham have picked up. Obviously we have the strikers out but Taylor getting injured in the warm up and then Evans in the first half were 2 big losses, added to individuals being off their game. Hopefully this was more of a blip than anything else as disappointing as it was.

We got bullied all over the pitch we just could not cope with their energy. We lost nearly every 50/50 and won absolutely nothing in the air.

The analysts after this match will be able to precisely pinpoint the specific areas of concern.
This standard of performance is untypical of the overall squad of late.
Very big misses are:
James Belshaw, Connor Taylor, Josh Grant and the withdrawn Anthony Evans.
The long term absence of a focal point up front to complete the team spine is the biggest miss.
If Ryan Loft or Leon Clarke can play the overall team wil improve.
In addition, ruthlessness may be necessary.

Perhaps Pitman wanted the move, assuming he still lives in Hants then getting game time near home must be more attractive to him than travelling miles just to warm the bench.

Playing bad individually is what all players do , but not trying is something else There was one or 6 should hang their heads in shame, not something you expect from a Barton team, he must be very disappointed to say the least
