It feels flat now because we just drew 0-0 and probably would have won it if the ref had gone to spec savers but if we can get the 3 points Tuesday - one of our games in hand with only two other games in our division that night then we’ll be 7 points off with still games in hand on most sides. And 51 points still left to play for. There’s still a long way to go yet people and over the last 8 games form table we’re 4th so are in good form points wise. Keep the faith UTG But 11th over the last 6 games so current form is worsening not improving, we've simply now got to win on Tuesday

Barton's brain washed the fans into now blaming the ref when we don't win, if we had been given a pen and scored then that would have been our only decent shot on target. With Thomas benched and Evans out injured we didn't have one player on the pitch who could actually create anything. Tuesday's now a massive game as with only a couple of other mid week fixtures next week a win would have us moving up the table, another draw or loss and it'll effectively be season over for another year and you have to start wondering whether Barton is the right manager to take us forward. Have your opinion Topper, but don’t ever refer to other supporters as being brain washed ok pal! It’s f**kin patronising an condescending. Yeah it is. I don’t even watch his interviews I’m going on what I see and 4th in the form table , one defeat in 8 and players who work hard for the shirt gives me hope. The first ten matches or so this season were woeful but I’m enjoying watching the Gas again for the first time in over two years. Not because Barton has “ brainwashed” me But because we’ve got a hardworking squad who have also got ability. I was prepared after Barton’s end to last season to give him all of this season to see what he could do,as long as we weren’t staring at another relegation like we did with DC after relegation ( that turned out alright didn’t it ?) So far I think he’s done ok overall but in parts it started badly and is getting better. Got to give him the rest of the season see how it goes. UTG

Keep the faith UTG I’m happy with a point and on balance a fair result against the form team in this league. I think the flatness is a hangover from Tuesday where everybody expected a result. Unfortunately there we got hit by a reinvigorated side with new manager bounce and we had no answer. It’s going to take an even better run than we had before Oldham for us to have a change of the playoffs, but whatever happens we are improving playing attractive football and heading in the right direction. I’d love us to win promotion, but if we don’t it will still be a decent season.

We are 11th over the last 6 games and 8th over the last 10. We require top 3 form to make the playoffs offs now imo, sadly this season hasn’t been good enough whoever the manager is.

UTG Why keep repeating we're 4th in the form table when we're 6th in the more commonly used 6 games current form table, who are you trying to convince we're doing better than we really are?

Why say 6th when it’s really 11th Well spotted!! I thinks it’s fairly obvious we are a mid table side.

I think that’s the season over tbh. I said previously that Sutton, Oldham, Mansfield & Sutton will require a minimum of 7 points to show we’re playing off contenders and so far we have 2 points in 3 of those games. Not really good enough tbh, with our budget we should be doing a lot better. It’s worrying as well that we’ll potentially need a squad reset (after already having a squad reset) as well with the amount of players we’ll lose in summer at end of contracts or returning back on loan. Season is far from over yet. It's harder after the last few results. Win on Tuesday and we will be 9 points behind Sutton with 2 games in hand and 7 behind Newport with 2 games in hand, with plenty of games to go. Win one those games in hand and the gap will be 4/6 points. Still playing without a striker, hopefully one will be back soon. Typical Rovers to lose to a team near the bottom and not lose away to a team with a great home record and at home to team on a great run. Fair point, but a lot of other teams around us with games to play too. Of course it isn't actually over, but IMO we're too far off to make a challenge and we're never able to actually close the gap. We keep hoping for players to come back but just as they do, another 2/3 go off injured again. We need top 3 form to make the play offs realistically and we just haven't shown that level of consistency all season really. Granted we hit some form recently, but we were also playing Rochdale, Hartlepool, Swindon, Scunthorpe and Walsall.

But what if we don't win that's the issue as we never seem to be able to close the gap, is Barton really capable of making up into a play off, or better side, as he's now had two transfer windows and we're still only a mid table side? What is really going on with Loft as how can a minor back injury keep him for so long. If we don't win enough, season will be over eventually. Point is, that the season isn't over yet. Even if it's less likely.

I agree and April looks particularly tough with a run of games that goes Tranmere Salford Port Vale FGR I don’t think at any point this season we have looked a promotion side. Regardless of who the manager is our results haven’t been good enough when you consider the investment that’s been made. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion of course and that’s just mine

A front four of Nicholson Evans Thomas Goal scorer Is good enough for this league Have we got the scorer? We are not far off, just need Loft or Clarke to fire some late magic….I reckon Leon could be the man, would love it for him to be fit for the run in…. UTG

There are other teams who have games in hand as well that are closer to those teams than we are. Also quite a reach to assume we just win all our games in hand, two of them are away from home and our away form isn’t great. I just don’t see how we get ourselves enough points.

We may well fall short but to write the season off already is premature.
