Belshaw 8.5 confidence in goal and beyond.
Hoole 9 m o m brilliant offence and defence performance, he has his first of hopefully, many. Taylor 8.5 tidy match and mopped up everything. Connolly 9 best game so far and goal apart, best of the defence. H. Anderson 8 great pushing forward as wing back.
Coutts 7 steady. Finley 6.5 not the best.
Nicholson 8.5 best of the midfield. Evans 6.5 nice assist corner for Hoole but failed to inspire thereafter. E. Anderson 6 they done their homework on him.
Collins 6 amazing energy and engine, but couldn't break through.
Subs: Loft 7.5 worked hard, got man handled every time, no protection from ref or our own and has great temperament. I can see potential, just not working atm with the way we approach the final third. Thomas 5 hmmmmm....? Whelan nole.
Ref 7.5 got major decisions correct, but I thought some of their defensive robust tackles were could not given as fouls (?)... Exeter 7.5 a good, physical hard working, well organised 4th division outfit that should be there or thereabouts end of season....how many times did we not pick up their number7 ? They took their goal well and should have added in injury time, but we had plenty of possession and half chances on offer too....an entertaining and we'll placed match of two teams on top their form and confident. I think both clubs will be satisfied with result, and take bags of confidence going forward...
On this performance, a west country triple of FGR, EC & Gas isn't such a fictional thought for promotion amongst 4 clubs as was the notion when we last played Exeter...!? Well done, Grecians. You gave us a good game.
Lick wounds and heal in time for the Barrow boys, we played an exceptional team for this division...

Belshaw 8 His usual consistent game Hoole 9 M.o.M. both defence and going forward he was superb. Taylor 8 the usual commanding game from the big man. Connolly 8.5 only Luca's display stopped him being m.o.m., he was always in the right place,an absolutely first class game. H. Anderson 7.5 he played well in an unfamiliar position although he's better further forward. Coutts 7.5 a good steady game Finley 6.5 not fully fit and it showed. Nicholson 7.5 he put in a good shift Evans 7. he didnt sparkle but still put in a good shift. E. Anderson 7 the opposition did their homework on him but he stlll caused problems Collins 6.5 he got little change from Exeter's uncompromising defence but ran and chased hard as usual Subs: Loft 6 provided the muscle but was unjustly penalised by the ref on numerous occasions, however the jury is still out. Thomas 5 bringing him on weakened us. Whelan n.o.l.e. Ref. 6.5 given the dross we've had this season he was ok and the lack of cards for trivial offences was a welcome change. Exeter 8 fully equipped for league two , hard and skillful ,probably the best team seen at the Mem this season

Belshaw 8 - usual quality peformance with good saves and distribution
Hoole 8 - some careless balls but overall a class performance and a welcome goal Taylor 7 - his form has dipped but still good enough for us Connolly 8 - calm and good distribution H. Anderson 7.5 - better as a full back than he was as a right wing back. Was surprisingly good in the air and has the ability for a long throw
Coutts 7.5 - a vital cog in the wheel Finley 5 - JB's comment about him being ill explains his lack lustre performance
Nicholson 7 - great player but needs to add the end product Evans 6 -less effective than usual E. Anderson 6.5 - can play better
Collins 5.5 - not really involved enough
Subs: Loft 5 - effort but was not effective Thomas 4 - was happy when he came on but a poor cameo Whelan nole
Ref 7 - made mistakes but no unecessary yellow cards which spoil matches Exeter 8 - good bet for promotion
