Belshaw 7 not involved
Hoole 7.5 not really troubled all night Taylor 8 solid Connolly 8 solid and very good on the ball Anderton 8 absolute warrior
Coutts 9 dictated the entire game. Such a fantastic influence to have in the centre of the pitch. Won absolutely everything Finley 8 again a great tempo and range of passing
H. Anderson 7 great battle and energy but little end product Evans 8 showed a different side to his game today and what a fantastic tackle late on E. Anderson 9.5 sublime. Outrageous skill and ability to glide past players with ease
Collins 7 worked very hard and saw little of the ball
Subs: Saunders 6.5 ran around very fast and very much but contributed very little Whelan 7 solid head Loft 7 did exactly what he was bought on for
Ref 4 meh Colchester 4 defensively organised but nothing more than that

Belshaw 7.5 steady game but relapse by having a 'Jaakkola at Sutton' moment.
Hoole 8 pushed forward a lot and at times parallel with front runners. Decent defending. Best of defence. Taylor 7.5 steady Connolly 6.5 caught with some paced opposition. Anderton 6 as above.
Coutts 8 captain marvel to sort out all the loose ends. Finley 5 off his game.
H. Anderson 7.5 worked hard as usual. Unlucky. Evans 6 one decent shot but some poor passes E. Anderson 9 m o m shines bright like a diamond and way way too good for this division with his flicks, dribbles and wonderous finishing. Star in the making and love his celebration with and to the crowd.
Collins 6.5 worked hard just wasn't his night.
Subs: Saunders 6.5 I like his introduction, maybe with more time an impact could be made. Whelan 6.5 there to shore up the gaps. Loft 7 can't fault his efforts and was brought on at end to deal with physicality, didn't see him as goalscoring threat.
Ref 4 got so much wrong for and against both sides, he was actually very consistent! Colchester 6.5 a tough, organised physical and at times pacey outfit. A stern test of what division 4 has to offer and created their chances fairly. On another night they might have sneaked a draw.
Scrappy but important match that again we stood up and took the blows, to get our win over the line. I wonder because of the workload, we are beginning to look a bit leggy.... but as much as they do a job marking some of our mid, another one steps up and takes the limelight! Step forward jewel in the loan crown, EA.
I really liked their no 12 and their left sided defender with red boots, and fair play could hear their fans...but we have to beat teams like that to progress and we just about did. Well played.

Belshaw 6.5 - struggled when put under pressure at corners but apart from that a largely quiet evening
Hoole 7 - steady game Taylor 8 - commanding Connolly 8 - his confidence on the ball is very good for one so young Anderton 7.5 - Good performance defensively. Elliot Anderson does not give him as much cover as Harry gives Luca
Coutts 8.5 - great captains performance. Controlled the midfield. Finley 8 - good vision and skill. A mature performance which meant that he avoided the suspension that another booking would have brought
H. Anderson 6.5 - good effort and a little unlucky at times Evans 6.5 - can play a lot better but still moments of greatness including a superb defensive tackle on the edge of our own box E. Anderson 9 - great skill and great goal. Always looked a threat
Collins 6 - not involved as much as of late but there was always an expectation when he got on the ball
Subs: Saunders 6 - battled hard Whelan 8 - a masterclass on how to come on late, control and see out a game Loft 6 - battled hard
Ref 6.5 Colchester 6

Belshaw - 7 - not much to do but did what he had to do well.
Hoole - 8 - did well in defence and supported the attack well. Taylor - 8 - very solid. Connolly - 7 - solid. Anderton - 8 - got better and better as the season has gone on.
Coutts - 9 - ran the game. Finley - 8 - fantastic alongside Coutts.
H. Anderson - 7 - faded as the game went on but solid none the less. Evans - 7 - ironically I can remember his defensive contributions more with a couple of great tackles. E. Anderson - 9 - best loan player ever for Rovers? Maybe. Great goal and a constant threat, even when doubled up on.
Collins - 6 - didn't do anything wrong but nothing really fell for him.
Subs: Saunders - 6 - similar to Collins. Whelan - 7 - another calming head in the middle of the park when it was needed. Loft - 6 - worked hard and his run/hold up play in the last few minutes really took the pressure off.
Ref - 6 - no real complaints but that linesman who failed to give that throw in the first half... wow... Colchester - 7 - very solid team with a good game plan. They will be safe this season.
