Warboys / Banister happy days. No live football then so it was great to have this game on the big match.
We gave Chelsea a run for their money in those days.

Let's be clear it was Brighton 2 -8 Rovers, we were in their back yard
Smash and Grab, still my favourite strike partnership in my lifetime

Nice kit too. The Wolves of Eastville. We wore Brighton's shirts. I'd forgotten that. Yes we did, like Mansfield some years later did with us. That clearly NEVER goes well.

Oh, how Rovers could do with a "Smash and Grab" duo these days.

I went to the MotD exhibition in Brum in the 90s and Bruce was working on a stall as part of his sports shoe business.
Me and a mate were in a queue to get autographs and ask questions of Sol Campbell and Martin Keown, who were current England internationals at the time, when we noticed Bruce.
In hindsight it may have seemed that we were taking the Michael but when we got to ask a question, we just asked "Can we borrow a pen for an autograph", and then when we got one, promptly walked off to a see Bruce.
Keown and Campbell would have no idea who he was, so to them it most have seemed we had queued up just to diss them by getting a signature from a bloke on a shoe stall instead of Arsenals finest!
