How many points are normally necessary to get into the LEAGUE TWO Play Offs in Seventh place?
2020/21 - Tranmere Rovers were 7th with 73 points
2019/20 - Shortened Covid Season - Not Applicable
2018/19 - Newport County - 7th with 71 points
2017/18 - Lincoln City - 7th - accumulated 75 points
2016/17 - Blackpool - 7th - a total of 70 points
2015/16 - AFC Wimbledon - 7th - had 75 points
2014/15 - Plymouth Argyle - 7th - managed 71 points
2013/14 - York City - 7th - achieved 71 points
2012/13 - Bradford City in 7th finished with 69 points
2011/12 - Crewe Alexandra in 7th gained 72 points
The highest total achieved by a side in 8th place in the last decade was at the end of the 2017/18 season by Mansfield Town.
The Stags achieved 72 points in the season that Lincoln City got 75.
The low 70's or high 60's is usually the total reached by the team that ends up 8th in League Two.
Will 73 points be sufficient to reach the Play Offs this season. Maybe. Maybe Not.
Is the traffic jam at the top of the table this season likely to mean an exceptionally high total is required? Maybe. Maybe Not.
With 24 points still to play for a sequence of 3 Wins, 3 Draws and 2 Defeats should suffice.
No need to put pressure on the team with talk of MUST WIN fixtures.
Obviously, 8 victories and a Forest Green Rovers collapse would be preferred.

Not worried about if we will make the playoffs or not.
More worried we make the autos and make FGR sweat so we can enjoy May.
That said confident of making playoffs and think we will have a damn good go of autos. Think we have more than a decent chance too with our current position and the run ins for us and everyone else.
Our boys don’t need to worry about the pressure. They’re flying and if they can’t handle the expectations now we may as well chuck in the towel as the playoffs will be far far worse. It’s our rivals who need to worry with the way we’re playing and the strides we’re making up the league.

Is anybody just content with a playoff finish now after the run we've been on if late? The target surely has to be the autos and, if we fall short, settle the for the playoffs.

More importantly if we boil out and only make the playoffs that doesn’t bode well for the playoffs themselves.
Slightly different to similar to 14/15 where we only just missed out on the championship/ autos though - if we just miss out I’m sure we’ll be ok.

Not even thinking about playoffs
We will be third minimum and the 12th man will roar us there or higher

If we don’t make top 3 then we should still be positive and not get caught with the just missed out syndrome that clubs get when they just miss out do because we were in the bottom half of the league at Christmas. There have been plenty of seasons where we’ve been near the lower at Christmas - finished mid table . Mid table at Christmas finished relegated or promoted. But if we win automatic promotion this season that’ll be the biggest turn around in my years supporting Rovers. It might even be the biggest turn around in our history ?

Could be our first title since 1990. Let’s get it done.

This season has already exceeded my expectations so whatever we achieve from here is a bonus as far as I’m concerned. I think we could get into the top three though we are still to get there maybe we’ll do it on the final game shades of 2016. I cannot see us taking the title, but there’s no harm in aiming for it. I wont be disappointed if we only make the playoffs as long as we win it. I won’t contemplate anything beyond that as that would feel like planning for failure.

'Supercomputer'. Bet it was done in the pub on the back of a beermat. Yeah this made me laugh Probably on a VM or a cloud compute instance. If not, on someone’s laptop down the pub as you say 😉 In layman’s terms, basically a computer split up into lots of little ones.

I'mm trying to be confident that we can make autos but it seems inevitable that it will all come down to the last day of the season with some mouth watering matches on the day. I'm sure JB & the boys can keep their nerve but home to Scunthorpe will inevitably be a nail biter.

I want the automatics if possible as just realised I am at a Bryan Adams concert at the Albert Hall on 11th May, I know we are getting ahead of ourselves here, the 28th May is the final, anyone know the semi final dates yet, please don't say 11th May.
