Usually when we win it's a result of everyone playing close to their full potential.
Today we got that must win result but I felt there was a wide gulf in individual performances and my scores reflect that.

Connolly- 8. Both centre backs did well against the behemoth up front for Salford.

H Anderson. 7. Didn’t get involved as much as usual.

Collins. 7.5. Brings so much to the team.

Ref. 8. Good game. Same goes for the linesmen. No howlers, never looked like giving a stupid penalty.
Salford 5. Never looked like scoring. Decent at the back. Their manager ranting at the ref after the game was fun.

Belshaw 8 the usual excellent display Hoole 8.5 M.o.M high energy,mature beyond his years,he has a great future. Taylor 7.5 dealt with the Salford giants well Connolly as Taylor Grant 7 did little wrong, we are well blessed with left sided defenders. Coutts 8 a gutsy performance, he leads by example H. Anderson 7 he worked hard,not everything worked but never dropped his head. E. Anderson 7 another well taken goal Finley 8 the pick of an excellent midfield Nicholson 7 no issue with his effort but he's just not on top of his game. Collins 7 the goals have dried up lately but he was his usual high energy self and always worth his place. Subs: Evans 8 everything clicked into place when he came on, we have missed him. Thomas 7.5 an assist and generally looked up for the challenge Whelan 7 organisational skills are a real plus when seeing the game out his experience is a real bonus. Ref 7 decent Salford 7 decent |
